It’s been pretty dry with WU. I don’t even get CPU tasks anymore. I have been getting a very steady supply of MCM units for Linux. The supply for Windows has a bit hit and miss, but presently is keeping up. I am guessing there are more Windows machines asking for units than Linux machines so the demand for those is greater. But that is only a guess. I do not have any GPU capable of running those units, so I cannont speak to an OPNG units. Cheers

Update on my end using Windows there has been a steady supply of MCM work units for the most part, enough to keep the machines busy using a 1 day buffer.
OPNG work is hit or miss but have been getting some every day, just not enough to keep the buffers fed on my GPU's for more than a couple minutes/hours. Have been seeing a mix of units for both AMD and Nvidia GPU's. For what its worth I also tried out an Intel ARC GPU for a week or so to see how it would crunch but it got exactly 0 work. Not sure if its a compatibility issue with that GPU or if there is just no work for Intel GPU. I know before I had gotten Intel work on some of my laptops with integrated graphics. Good day |

Good day Good to hear from you. Glad you are having some success. I wonder if anybody has had any success with that Intel ARC. If you do get it working, it would be interesting to hear how. Hope you had a good Thanksgiving. Cheers

My four crunchers are all running Linux too so I can't speak to availability of tasks for Windows, but like Sgt. Joe, I'm getting a steady supply of MCM tasks. One of my machines has an old 32 bit processor and it has sometimes gotten the "no tasks available" message over the past couple weeks but then they seem to refill.
I can confirm that there is occasional work from OPNG for the Intel GPU, at least on Linux. Don't know about ARC specifically. I have one low-powered intel GPU online (Intel UHD Graphics 620, the integrated graphics on an 8th gen Core i7 mobile processor) and it has gotten maybe 20 work units over the past month. Definitely not a steady supply, but worthwhile! |

I don't look at my crunchers that often if they are getting a steady supply of work units other than to periodically check how many they have "in progress." When I do check that "no tasks available" message seems to come up quite often, but eventually after a bunch of tries by BOINC some work units do get downloaded. Cheers

Intel ARC: I have NEVER gotten a GPU task for the intel ARC in windows. I get them at einstine@home and it works really well.
----------------------------------------Before I had the ARC, I would get WCG tasks for the integrated graphics all the time. When I first installed the ARC, I was puzzled why I never got any tasks so i played around with the config file to enable both the integrated graphics and the ARC but it was unstable. I suspect the WU are not compatible with the ARC but I am only speculating. I could play around again with the config and inactivate the ARC, but honestly, I can't be bothered.

Interesting information. There have been some posts by those who use GPU's about the differences between the NVidia and AMD software, but I have seen very little about the Intel ARC. Maybe they will iron out their differences in a further implementation. Cheers

I've seen a lack of tasks on windows as well.

I've seen a lack of tasks on windows as well. Khyron, Good to hear from you. As of right now, my supply on both Windows and Linux is good. But we all know how that can change in a heartbeat. Cheers

Happy new year everyone. Over the break I finally put together a file server to save the 8+ TB of photos taken over the years. I got two 20TB disks running UNRAID OS. Im still migrating files since my wife's computer is only a 1gb/s network LAN so I decided to move everything over to a portable hard drive using USB. Her old Mac is only USB2.o but its still faster then her NIC.
----------------------------------------I played around on UNRAID and made my first Docker container for BOINC. I am running about 12 threads with a healthy backlog. Sure beats getting Windows tasks. EDIT: I updated my sig with the server specs
