Re: Minnesota Crunchers

I don't think I'll ever complain about cold in Iowa again after reading this:

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Thanks. What are you running the 7870 at? My sapphire doesn't like to go above 1000. Tried 1100 twice and both times I find my cruncher BSOD. Zero issues @1000. Not sure but maybe have to bump up the power to +5 or +10 in CCC to see if that helps. Will give it a try at .5 CPU and bump it up to 10 or 12 to see what happens. Only crunch with the GPU on the 3770k rig. More points biggrin

I'm pretty sure I bumped the stock gpu/mem clocks from 1000/1200 to 1050/1250 with no issue. Haven't tried higher.
I set the fan to run at 55% all the time which is under the noise floor created by other components but also keeps GPU temps below 60C which is fantastic compared to the 4870 that used to be in there.

I don't think I bumped power but I can double check tonight.

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

LM, will have to stoke up that fire more to keep the old bones warm. My turn to pour the cocoa, with a tad spike of brandy.
Balmy -9.5 C here in Denmark - that's 15 F tongue
I'll put lots of logs on the fire, Bearcat, and plenty next to it,
and I look forward to that spiked cocoa.
You will use whole milk, right? Can you tolerate milk at all?

No problem on the milk. Mind if I spike the cocoa allot? Allot of logs will be needed for this deep freeze here. With allot of logs burning, will be comfortable on the bear rug along with the cocoa. wink

Think I will adjust gpu, mem and power higher at the same time to see if I get locked up again. Was adjusting just the gpu. CCC shows I can go up to 1400 but don't think its possible unless I want a china syndrome.

Managed to snag 21 Betas. It looks like you are limited to only getting 1 per core.
Cheers

Good going, and glad you mentioned it here! I hadn't seen the beta test announcement, but I got my profiles changed in time to get 12 betas. They don't seem to be coming any more.

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

No problem getting betas with an app_config, but I don't know about with an app_info. I am running betas right now on the machine where I'm using an app_config.xml to run 3 WUs at a time on my 7750.
