Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Darn you are missing my point smile

I was writing about exit plans if I would need to leave this place.

thinking

OK, I got the point. That is a big if. But it is always good to have several contingency plans. And you appear to have given this some strong thought.

Cheers

Sure,

this country was closed economy until 1995, voting result was 56% pro.
So it was never any clear results, more like divided country to half.

Now I have seen raise of nationalists and socialists, and first ones election theme was return to closed economy.
If they would manage retrieve old model, then I would have to give everything to government if demanded.

My problem is that I have never try to avoid taxes.
I have always order tax certificate for local IRS and actually pay taxes from my foreign bank accounts.
Good part is that my money will always be safe, those banks will never hand over my money because origin of those is legal.
Bad part is that those certificates work as evidence about that I have possession that are invisible, I do not need to tell how much I have, only how much have I earn.. So I'm very safe right now, as long as this area is part of EMU.

If old model would return, then I would need to made clear calculation how much I have and prove it, or become criminal on face of government.
And yes there is a law that I need to give everything to gov if demanded.

I have cross limit of no return, I cannot go back anymore to old system.
So I better be outside of borders if this area will return to old days....

So yes, I have several very realistic exit plans smile
I hope I never need those, but you know Si vis pacem, para bellum

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Odd weather system moving slowly through the midwest brought us some interesting stuff today.

This wall cloud went right by down town St.Paul and a tornado warning was issued for the north St.Paul burbs. These storm were traveling from the south east to the north west. VERY unusual!

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Yikes! Terrific (and scary!) photo! It looked on the radar as if a huge weather system was rotating -- so there were parts moving in every direction.

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Rained cats and dogs here today. I had 1.6 in (4cm) in the gauge. The ground was already saturated from earlier rains so most of this will be run off. I am glad that was all we got here. Elsewhere they got more. But only a little wind.

Cheers

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Same here. Couldn't see past the road it rained so hard. We need a couple of dry weeks. That looks like a nasty wall cloud. Luckily no major damage produced. With summer just starting, hate to see what July brings us. Stay safe everyone.

Ten beaufort on forecast here on coastline for night..

I really hope it would take few (tons) threes out of my home hill...
Those has most annoying tendency to block sunset.

I'm relatively sure that national board of antiques does not allow any new ones to be planted devilish

Cheers fellows!

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Gorgeous days yesterday and today. Had the parish festival beergarten last night. We went through 70 kegs of beer. It was a good crowd with no trouble. Very nice crowd today also. Hopefully all goes well and the quilt raffle makes some good money.

Cheers

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

I was at the Grand AM and NASCAR road race this weekend at "Road America" in Elkhart Lake Wisconsin and witnessed this amazing crash.

The Camaro ended up here over the catch fence.

Thank god there were no spectators standing there.
In-car camera of the Camaro that flipped

Gunter Schaldach who flipped over the fence walked away but the guy he rear-ended, Joe Foster, was cut out and air lifted to a Milwaukee hospital.

The NASCAR race was very exciting also with a very controversial end to it.
All in all a very fun Saturday!
On the way home Sunday we stopped here to do some bird watching.
