... snip ... I do have a question about how to alter my sig (as posted earlier in this thread). I attempted to use the process I saw in one of your mails, Bill, and instead of the logo, all I got was a link at the bottom of my message. Can you update me on the proper procedure for creating a signature block? thanks FB Hi, Fred. First, let me take this opportunity to thank you for all the crunching you've done for our team. You jumped all the way to the number one spot on our team in just one month, and have been contributing about half of our daily points. Very cool! Now, as for your question -- and forgive me if I missed it earlier -- I assume that you already know to go to "Forums", then "My Forum Profile", and then "Change My Signature". At that point you need to insert whatever images you want by using the bracketed commands of <img>, insert the image location, and then end with </img>. However, you need to use the square brackets in place of angle brackets, i.e., use "[" in place of "<", and use "]" in place of ">"; I had to use the angle brackets or else the server would have replaced some of the above with a broken image. Anyway, here is my sig code, but with part of the brackets replaced as just described so that you'll see the code: _<img]tinyurl.com/omy2n</img]<url=tinyurl.com/9kled]Click here if you brew your own beer and want to join our team</url]. <img]tinyurl.com/8z3br</img] <img]tinyurl.com/erpkz</img] <img]sig.sx.am/3n9.png</img] <img]tinyurl.com/kxawa</img] The images, in order, are: smiley with a dark beer, smiley with a light beer, top portion of banner (team title, hops, and Franklin quote), my personal stats from a stats generator, and bottom portion of banner re Jimmy Carter. Note that you do NOT need to waste space by typing "http://". Feel free to use any of the above images, which are stored on my webpage except for the "sig.sx.am/3n9.png", which is my personal stats generated and stored on another website. I can't remember where that generator is, but I'll try to find it and post a follow up here for you. Hope that helps. Cheers. Bill Velek |

Here is the site for the stats generator: http://sig.braindev.de/ . At least that's the latest that I could find; I hope it still works.
Now, I don't know hardly anything about how this stuff works, and I just screwed up by trying to upload and save my background for you, thinking it would save the size and colors only. However, it put all of my old stats there, too. Sorry, Boerni. I'll try to find some way to contact someone to have that deleted. Anyway, Fred. I'll have to look back through some threads to identify the very nice person who fixed mine up for me; perhaps he'll be able to help you. Meanwhile, I've got to get to bed right now because I need to get up very early tomorrow, and will be gone all day. I'll try to get back to this as soon as possible. Cheers. Bill Velek |

One last note before I turn in for the night. You can find some posts earlier in this thread where the subject of the stats generator has been discussed, namely CKizer from team Gay US, and V_R from the PCReviewCrewII. In fact, it was V_R who actually fixed my stats banner for me.
Of course, I don't know what you want your sig to look like. Now I'm going to bed. Goodnight. Bill Velek |

You jumped all the way to the number one spot on our team in just one month, and have been contributing about half of our daily points. Very cool! Thanks Bill! I appreciate the efforts you've put into creating this team and recruiting members (including me). Feel free to use any of the above images, which are stored on my webpage except for the "sig.sx.am/3n9.png", which is my personal stats generated and stored on another website. I can't remember where that generator is, but I'll try to find it and post a follow up here for you. Perfect! It's working! Don't worry about rushing to get the other stat parts, I appreciate the help whenever you can get to it. I've checked out the stat generator website link you sent (thanks) and I'll eventually either figure it out or just sit here and whine. I'll review the previous posts in more detail as well. Thanks again FB PS V_R, I don't mean to impose on you; if you have a moment to throw something together, great, otherwise, no problem. |

Its no problem, I have a template so it takes me less than a minute to do. ![]() [img]sig.sx.am/42u.png[/img} Bill, At time of posting, i notice your team stats are not displaying in your stat image. It may just be 'having a moment' and will be fine later, but i'll keep an eye in it..... |

I'll see what i can do after work tonight Bill. BTW, can i send you an email to your addy on you website? Hello, V_R. I just got home a couple of minutes ago. Yes, feel free to send me an email; in fact, there's no need to visit my site for my address -- here it is: billvelek-AT-alltel.net (drop the hyphens, too). Also, I noticed that you fixed up Fred with his stats banner; thanks. I didn't have time last night, and it probably would have taken me a long time to figure it out, too. My stats are displaying okay now, so that must have been a hiccup or something that you mentioned. Cheers. Bill Velek [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Mar 23, 2006 2:32:25 PM] |

*prods the numbers* Are you referring to the HomeBrewers in the top 100? ... and that we won't get much further than that?? I didn't think you'd ever make it to the top 100, but you've grown quite a bit of late. Keep it up, and you should arrive eventually. You won't get much further than that, though. I presume you mean that we made it into the top 100 for daily points (75th place yesterday), rather than for 'overall points generated' -- in which we're still a LONG way off from the top 100. What we need is another successful recruitment drive like we had in February, maybe in a few more months and then again in the fall. If that happens, it could push us into the top 50 in points per day, and that should put us into the top 100 in total points fairly quickly. Then from there it would be a very slow progression toward the top 50. But hey, I'll be proud if we can make it into the top 200 by our anniversary. I know that your team has exceeded that by FAR, but you are the exception -- and probably one of the most successful teams on WCG, considering your teams age. Other than your team, I think there are very few teams our age or younger that are ahead of us or are catching up to us; one of them is the Russian Moscow team, which is two days younger yet still ahead of us. However, we should pass them within a few days -- a week at the most. We're also going to pass the Seychelles team within a week. I think most teams that are doing better than us were either organized already or have some sort of an organization to back them up. That's not a bad thing -- it's just easier to get to the top than a team that starts from scratch, especially when it's recruitment focuses on a small, select group of people.Cheers. Bill Velek |

Hello, V_R. I just got home a couple of minutes ago. Yes, feel free to send me an email; in fact, there's no need to visit my site for my address Hey Bill, Cheers for that. I wouldn't leave your addy there though, Forums bots or something will harvest it and spam the heck out of you. Also, I noticed that you fixed up Fred with his stats banner; thanks. I didn't have time last night, and it probably would have taken me a long time to figure it out, too. My stats are displaying okay now, so that must have been a hiccup or something that you mentioned. Yeah, not sure what happened, but i did notice after i posted that i saw a few others like it. Anyway sorted now so no bother. I hope Fred B likes the banner. ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Mar 23, 2006 3:05:12 PM] |

Thanks. Bill Velek |
