It is harder to tell these days if a project is sending out WUs as both MCM and ARP seem to flip back and forth between only fresh WUs to only resend WUs.

It is harder to tell these days if a project is sending out WUs as both MCM and ARP seem to flip back and forth between only fresh WUs to only resend WUs. Sorry, but I can absolutely NOT confirm this.I do think ARP has been a resend WUs for a while. I have gotten some resends but my queue is dwindling. edit to add:MCM is also in a resend only mode for a while now too. For MCM1, I get 99.9% _0 and _1 WUs, with only very occasionally one or two resends (_2, rarely higher). For the few ARP1 WUs that I get, there is currently maybe 1 resend (_2 or higher) for every 5-6 _0/_1 "original" WUs...(currently 6 _2 through _4, out of 37 WUs total still on my Results page, with 4 of them validated WUs that have been missing from my 7/11-7/12 stats total)... Thank you for the info Raif. I'm not sure what a lack of resends for you means. I'm not saying there are a ton of resends going out, just times when only resends go out, which means the flow of WUs is very low.
Right now I'm getting the "Tasks are committed to other platforms" message in my log. This means that MCM isn't sending out fresh WUs. It may or may not be sending out resends depends on if there are any to send..I keep my MCM queue fairly short at 4 hours, so I can see what is happening on the system. Most of the time the resend only period is only and hour or two, and it doesn't bother me. Right now it has been over 4 hours, and I'm out of MCM WUs. I haven't gotten a fresh ARP in over 24 hours... I have gotten some resends though, so I have 12 hours until I run out of WUs. I can also see my reference number on the first page for both projects going down. From this info, I'm guessing that the flow for both projects is really low right now. |

The only things I've been getting have been ARP & MCM resends. Since my cupboard is pretty bare (i.e., nothing queued anymore), they should get processed quickly.
Either there is a problem, or WCG is only focused on resends to clear out the backlog prior to releasing the new crop of MCM1 WU's. But, in any event, I'll keep crunching away... |

My situation (and my view on what's going on) is much the same as described by Unixchick in the reply to Ralf's message.
----------------------------------------I've not seen a new MCM1 task since about 18:20 UTC on the 15th, and the six retries at 19:52 and the singleton retry at 00:24 this morning weren't enough to stop all my systems running out (and the master data file being purged, of course!). [Edit: one of my systems got another 4 MCM1 retries at 04:03 UTC (and downloaded the master data file), but at about 04:50 I'll be out of work again...] During the 9+ hours of no work hardly any of the scheduler requests have got that "tasks are committed to other platforms" message, which might suggest that retries aren't that much of an issue and that the work generator hasn't been running at all during that period -- possible node issue? (And yes, I'm aware that that's speculation, but without detailed Server Status information...) However, if such long intervals are going to be a [planned?] permanent feature of whatever they do to deal with a potential build-up of retries, perhaps the methodology needs a re-think... As for ARP1, there's probably still plenty of work out in the field, but I've only received one in the last 36 hours (and that was late on the 14th!) I suspect a lot of low-buffer users will be seeing similar. Little voice in my head: "Think of the savings on your electricity bill..."  I just hope they can get on with the MAM1 refactoring and Beta testing soon, so that we can have three projects to provide work (which might take pressure off the MCM1 retry situation...) Not any new, or resend MCM tasks at all for a long time now. No "tasks are committed to other platforms" messages either, which also is unusual. (I only run 6 MCM's/day, and I do not ask for ARP's) 6 MCM's/day, is all I want. The rest of the day the computer is off (or rather in sleep mode). This low production is only to keep the "Current streak" from resetting to zero days.
----------------------------------------I will ramp up the production when MAM Beta is back, and/or when MAM goes into production mode, or if any other new projects is started. No WUs here. Not even a resend. No official word on what is going on. No idea why they aren't sending us WUs

i got 1 ARP resend (_5) last night but that's it on 6 machines.
