Regarding "Tasks are committed to other platforms"...
----------------------------------------That can apply to any WCG "project" -- to work out which one(s) it applies to, look for an application that is missing from the list of "No tasks are available for ..." It is very common for MCM1 given the huge number of tasks issued and hence, almost certainly, huge numbers of retries being teed up more or less simultaneously (for whatever reason). Bulk single-platform retries are less likely to be an issue for ARP1, but I have seen that message applying to ARP1 on a few occasions so it does happen! I don't know whether the message would appear twice if the server buffer had nothing but a mix of retries for the same platform for both projects at some point! (And I can't be bothered to do a code dive to try to find out at the moment...) Cheers - Al. [Edit 1 times, last edit by alanb1951 at Jul 21, 2025 1:33:04 AM] |

It appears that new MCM1 work started to go out around 08:00 UTC; that's aboujt 37.5 hours after I received my last new task on 2025-07-19...
One of my systems had been getting a small but fairly regular flow of retries before that so it was still polling the server fairly regularly -- first new work at 08:02! All my other clients had got into that "No work? Something might be wrong so I'll poll less often" state so one of the others started to get work at 12:15 UTC and the others were all on 12 hour (or longer) delays and needed a kick at my end when I eventually had a chance. There's some similarity between this [slightly shorter] drought and the one in the middle of last week; on that occasion I collected my last non-retry MCM1 task around 18:30 UTC on 2025-07-15 and new work flow seemed to resume just under 48 hours later. As for ARP1, work flow isn't "busy" enough to get enough user comments to draw conclusions... Cheers - Al. P.S. I am well aware that the above is no real substitute for information we might have gathered from a proper, regular, System Status display provided by WCG ![]() |

Jurisica Lab is in Toronto, Canada. They are at GMT -4 So 08 UTC is 4am in Toronto?? Was this an automated and/or planned restart of fresh WU generation? or is it that one of the techies was up at 4am??

As for ARP1, work flow isn't "busy" enough to get enough user comments to draw conclusions... At least for the time being I have had a full complement of ARP units downloaded.I have 8 of my 52 threads devoted to ARP and all 8 slots are now populated. Cheers Edit:spelling

Got back in after the better part of the day out and about, and it seems that MCM1 is finally "flowing" again and all hosts seem to have gotten their fill (for now).
And there is/was also a light sprinkle of ARP1, at least about 10 new ones (no resends) on 10 different hosts... Ralf |

It looks like fresh ARPs haven't gone out in a few hours. I think we all have nice, but not completely filled queues.

I now have a full ARP cache (2 days). I hope everyone else is getting enough to keep your systems busy.Let's see how fast we can get this done, while still sharing. Please don't make your queues too long.
