MCM is flowing well, but I haven't gotten a fresh ARP in a while... only resends Well, yeah, MCM1 changed from a trickle to a more constant flow, though I still have to flush out a lot of the alternate project WUs (and I don't like to just abort them).ARP1 now comes in with one new WU (and they are new ones, _0/_1, not resends) every 4-6 hours or so, on different hosts, so barely a trickle. Let's see how this all works out over the weekend, I am gone most day tomorrow for yet another CERT drill... Ralf |

I took the opportunity without ARP WUs to upgrade my Boinc. I didn't download podman (docker) on my machine yet. not sure if any of the projects I do need it.
Glad I'm still getting MCM, but like grumpy I'm here for other projects and just run MCM to keep my machine asking for ARP. Hopefully we will get ARP back before monday, and MAM will start again soon. |

MCM is still trickling in, just barely enough to keep me busy, running about 70% of capacity.. ARP is scarce with only 2 work units, both of which are resends.

Thanks for the updates Mike and Joe. I'm completely out. time for my backup project.
----------------------------------------edit: usually posting that there are no WUs helps get them started again... That didn't work, so I downloaded my backup project. Last time I did that WCG started up again, and I had to deal with all the WUs I had downloaded from the other project. Sigh. I think I just need to be more patient and wait until Monday. I had to deal with all the WUs I had downloaded from the other project. Run the backup project as real backup project, i.e. 0 ressource share, than BOINC will automatically download just as many WUs as needed to keep everything busy, no babysitting or any other user intervention required. I have Milkyway configured as backup since it's very reliable and doesn't require large downloads (usually no download at all), so it can start instantly. You can even have more than one backup project.![]() |

I run einstein as my backup project and it doesn't behave properly as a backup project. I don't know why. I like einstein, so I'm not looking for a different backup project even if it doesn't behave

All remains dry here. I suppose it is the weekend, so I don't expect anything until Monday.

I am getting none available for MCM but other platforms every time for ARP. The ARP message can't be right unless Windows have been boycotted. I too run Einstein as backup, but their units are too long-dated and I can't find how to change their resource share to 0. However, I come out of No new tasks for just one download and then reset no new tasks. Mike |

I did manage to get some MCM resends.
I thought the "Tasks are committed to other platforms" was a MCM message for when they aren't generating fresh WUs. Thus resends only ARP doesn't have a message change and only ever says No tasks are available for ARP when it doesn't have anything to send to you. I do exactly what you say for Einstein, Mike. A quick allow new tasks and then flip back to no new tasks. This gives me 9 WUs which I run one at a time so that any WUs from WCG can have an immediate open slot (2 for ARP, 1 for MCM and 1 for Einstein when I allow it) The heat is too much here in the summer to run much more at once. |
