Re: New project is coming!

Unlike the MCM tasks which take ~ 50 minutes on my Ryzen 5 5600 in Linux, these look like they'll take 5 to 10+ hours to complete.

Re: New project is coming!

@zdnko, what version and edition of Windows? All 3 of my Win10 Pro 22H2 got a "Computation Error" immediately. I have a ton of Debian Linux tasks running great. Most are at 0.500% for a long time, and some get past that first hump within 10 minutes.

Re: New project is coming!

I caught 56 Beta units on two of my Linux systems. They all arrived between 06:58 UTC to to 07:00 UTC. (Local time here would have been 02:00 Central Standard Time). I have not had a chance to check those systems yet for progress.

Edit: I checked the systems and on the Xeon(R) CPU E5-2665 0 @ 2.40GHz the work units are running at about 3% per hour. On the Xeon(R) CPU E5645 @ 2.40GHz the work units are running at about 1% per hour. I will probably check those systems around noon local time(17:00 UTC) and see how they are progressing.

Cheers

Re: New project is coming!

Ok, I tested this Windows laptop with a MCM1 task and got a computation error immediately, so the MAM1 errors are probably due to my system and not the new Windows MAM1 binary.

Reason: Access Violation (0xc0000005) at address 0x00007FF67A1A88FD write attempt to address 0x55828040

I haven't run WCG/BOINC on this device in months, but I did harden a ton of Windows Exploit Protection settings and made them mandatory system-wide:

Control flow guard (CFG)
Mandatory ASLR
Bottom-up ASLR
High-entropy ASLR
SEHOP
Validate heap integrity

Since I changed all of them and rebooted, one or more of these settings need to be disabled for BOINC. Ugh, trial and error time unless the answer is already on the Web somewhere.

We just also received a BUNCH of beta tasks- most are stuck at 0.5% as well and some are moving slowly (like, glacially slow). Good to see them come our way!
