Hi,
----------------------------------------I'm using Boinc on Linux and Windows. With both system i've got an issue when downloading new tasks. Some times it work. Some times it stop at 107 bytes and start to "retrying in xx:xx:xx". If one stop at 107 bytes, all next downloads stop at 107 bytes. If I force to restart a download : some times it work and some times not. I hope it's enough clear, english is not my language. -------------------------------- Edit oct 11 2022 The download issue is solved. Thanks to all the powerful teams who worked on it. I apologize on behalf of anyone who has spoken ill of you and will not apologize for doing so. At the same time the site and the forum are much more faster too. Thanks again. --------------------------------- Edit oct 18, 2022 Issue is back ... --------------------------------- Edit oct 21, 2022 Solved again. We hope it is for more than a week. (with a friendly tap on the shoulder of the operator) --------------------------------- Edit nov 9, 2022 Yep, issue is back ... again. And site is slow ... again. I dont know what they did to solve it and why the issue is back. (I'm just a user) To reactivate pending transferts you can do this: click on "Tools" menu then "Retry pending transferts" or create a cron task to do it for you with "/usr/bin/boinccmd --network_available" with a delay from 10sec if you have no fear to 15min if you are a little shy thing. for windows users PMH_UK said : Based on a quick google: Make sure you logged on as an administrator or you have the same access as an administrator. Start->Control Panel->System and Security->Administrative Tools->Task Scheduler Action->Create Basic Task->Type a name and Click Next Follow through the wizard. Suggest every 10 to 15 minutes is enough to get any stuck tasks moving. Paul.

So, i've turned around the issue like this :
----------------------------------------:START read client_state.xml if there is downloading in progress : launch boinccmd --network_available (this will stop waiting to retry) wait 10 sec and goto START if there is no downloading in progress : every 30 sec goto START every 600 sec launch boinccmd --project WCG update (this will verify if there is new WU to download) and goto START of course you have to translate this to your own programming language Now I'm sure to have WU for all my computers.

I have no idea if Windows gives the same result, as I only open windows to download and install its most recent patches, not to use it. I'm getting extremely ticked off with all this stuff preventing me for doing any work, and I'm extremely close to saying <insert rude gesture>, I'm out of here... ![]()

Yes that's the issue.
----------------------------------------You can turn around manually : on boincmgr click tools then retry network connections this will stop the annoying "waiting to retry time" you have to do it until the download list is empty. (I've did it for 2 days) or wait that a good guy write a tool to do it as I describe. if you dont want to wait : the really dirty way is creating a crontask with "/usr/bin/boinccmd --network_available" every 10sec (no need to run it as root)

For Windows users the command is:
"C:\Program Files\boinc\boinccmd" --network_available The quotes are required because of the space between Program and Files. |

I just restart BOINC. The downloads finish normally, and everything works fine after the restart.

Looks like the download problem is over. I've had no trouble at all for the last 48-72 hours with completely smooth transactions. Fingers and toes are well crossed.
