I can never get more than 9 wu's on my pc with has 12 cores. Do you limit the number of wu's per pc? My old pc's can only download 9 wu's also. Only some rather resource demanding projects limit the number of concurrent WUs. From the currently still active projects, I think it is only ARP1, and then the default I think is a max. of 2...Ralf |

OMG, i just created a new Thread about this. I should had searched before i posted. this is my issue:
----------------------------------------after the upgrade, my BOINC downloaded tasks fine. it completed downloaded some more and worked fine for a few days. Then, I noticed on the downloading tab there were a lot of work units stuck downloading. I had to cancel them. Then it happened again and again. I even tried to uninstall BOINC and reinstall / readded WCG. and it worked fine for a few days. I just noticed it started to happen again. I think it mostly happens when it tries to download units for GPU. Fanny that I configure the profile to NOT use GPU. Any Ideas what is happening ? -OK, it turns out that after the WCG upgrade, all my devices went back to Default Profile. I have created a profile that opted out of GPU. but this doesn't explain why the work units get stuck downloading. -kept clicking retry on the transfer tab untill all the units downloaded. hopefully this gets fixed soon. I checked everything and all my computers only downloaded 9 Wu's. Which is fine for the old two but the 12-processor system is wasting 3 processors. It's a pain trying to all other Projexts.

I checked everything and all my computers only downloaded 9 Wu's. Which is fine for the old two but the 12-processor system is wasting 3 processors. It's a pain trying to all other Projexts. That must be something on your end then. All my systems (unless they are not switched back to WCG and doing something else, or nothing at all) are pretty much choke full of WUs to the point of overabundance. If it wouldn't be for the dreaded transfer errors having creeping back up the last few days, but if the systems request work, they do get it. Mind you that I have all my systems on default settings, I don't play with things like larger/smaller buffer, etc... My among my newer systems is for example my programming PC/laptop, which is a i7-8750 (6C/12T, 16GB RAM) which is loaded to the brim with OPNG WUs as well as MCM1 and OPN1 (has both NVidia & Intel GPU). Likewise, a CAD workstation here in the office has a 11th gen i7 (10C/20T, 16GB RAM, SSD). Overall, on all hosts (re)activated for WCG, in a little less than a month, I have processed almost 15k WUs, for a combined runtime of pretty much 4 years (and which I fear might be lost for the stats)... Everything was working fine (on the BOINC/client/crunching side) for about 5 days last week, but things turned for the worse late Sunday/early Monday morning this week. Ralf |

Same here, it's annoying.
I have a good GPU, when all the current GPU job is done, it's still waiting for download. ![]() |

----------------------------------------or use the really dirty way and create a crontask with "/usr/bin/boinccmd --network_available" every 10sec (no need to run it as root) or for windows : "C:\Program Files\boinc\boinccmd" --network_available (The quotes are required because of the space between Program and Files.)
My GPU compute WUs as fast as I'm crushing bubble wrap.
