Got two of these. One finished before I knew about the beta test, and the other I was able to catch. Both systems are Ryzen 7 1700, 16 gigs ram, 16 concurrent threads, latest Linux Mint distro.
----------------------------------------First was BETA_ OPN1_ 9999996_ 0264, which finished in 2.13 hours, all checkpoints registered, seemed to run fine. BETA_ OPN1_ 9999996_ 0225, 54% done at the moment, probably will run 9-9.5 hours. 179.0 MB virtual memory size, 114.26 MB working set size. 11.520% per hour. Estimated computation size is 31,864 GFLOPs. Seems to be running fine, mostly consistent timings (takes about 60-70 seconds to increase .001%). |

I've always assumed that you don't need to hear from us unless something unusual happens with the jobs. Is that correct?

Dadx, in most cases, probably. But feedback from a variety of systems that units are working fine are valuable where people previously experienced weird behavior or failures in the past. Although I am sure the devs spend a lot of time making sure they work on a wide variety of systems, it could also help with diagnosing where units fail. If the failing system is very similar to a successful system, information about the successful system may help identify the variable that is causing the failure on the other. Information about how the units run may also be valuable when the units go into actual production. I guarantee that with these units, people will be confused about how the units progress (increments of .001% and then a jump to the next 2%), and these observations prepare people with answers to those questions. And in this particular case, they asked for information about memory size.
----------------------------------------That’s my thought process, at least. |

Can anyone confirm if the project graphics wording has been improved? I haven't gotten the latest round of beta work units.

I don't think anything has changed in regards to screensaver wording, nothing was mentioned about this in the beta description thread That stinks. It better be fixed before Go Live, or I'll be more embarrassed to reach out to a bunch of online communities to install WCG in their practices and homes. It's already an uphill battle getting people to care about literally doing nothing but having their computer cure cancer and other diseases (for whatever reason). I'd very much like the language corrected so I don't look like a fool when being a WCG evangelist to people with science and medical backgrounds. @Juan, if there's too much on the plate, I'm willing to edit that graphic if you provide the font and guidelines and approved language. I really, really don't like the error as it's currently written.

I got 2 WU on stationary 24/7 Android devices. Both went w/o errors and are in PV status atm, waiting for wingman.
----------------------------------------Runtime was a bit high: One WU took 10.65hours, the other took 14.24 hours. Both ran on differend "Odroid N2"-systems which are quite high performing for Android devices (those devices are usually ways faster than the wingmen). For comparison: SCC WUs takes 1-4h on those systems. High runtime might be a problem for none 24/7 systems to report results within deadline(?) I am curious how much time it will take my wingman. I am going to edit this post when I see their result. Details about the WUs: BETA_ OPN1_ 9999997_ 0005_ 1-- BETA_ OPN1_ 9999996_ 0209_ 1-- -EDIT- Update: Wingmen returned their results: One WU took 18.19 the other took 45.98 (!) hours. I am not worried about returning Betas in time. I think runtime close to 2days might be a problem for non 24/7 devices when the project runs in daily routine. Anyways, I am really hoping to crunch OPN1 on my Android cluster. [Edit 1 times, last edit by KodeX at May 1, 2020 7:36:41 PM] |

If you cant return a Beta result in 4-5 days you better get off the Beta program. Simple.

Got 6 WUs on various linux boxes. Suspended and restarted 4 from disk without issue. All 6 validated OK.
