We will be starting with the -OM batches for OET1 soon. These are much longer docking and are therefore not suitable for android devices. As a result, we will stop sending OET1 work to android devices soon. Other platforms should be able to continue to get OET1 work without problem. Time to complete a typical OET work unit is now ~8hrs rather than ~1.5hrs on an older intel i7.
----------------------------------------What is everyone else experiencing? EDIT: Spoke too soon, seems to take longer; will have to wait until one completes. [Edit 1 times, last edit by davidjharder at Mar 26, 2018 8:41:35 PM] |

Try to avoid restarting your computers as much as possible until we complete the -OM batches.
CPU time since Checkpoint can be thirty minutes or longer on a modern CPU (Ryzen 1700x, Ubuntu 17.10). |

I bumped one of the OM units to the top of the queue and it is looking like it will run about 10 hours on a Xeon E5410 running Linux. This is based on 30% after 3 hours, so it may turn out differently by the time it finishes.
----------------------------------------Edit: Took about 8 hours. Cheers

I'm getting a median of 4.7 hours on an AMD 1700x running at stock speeds on Ubuntu 17.10.
----------------------------------------If you have any machines active 24/7 that could be running linux, consider it. The bonus speed on VINA tasks (Ebola, Zika, Childhood Cancer, Aids phase 1) makes an enourmous difference. Every time you claim a work unit that would have been run on Windows, another user avoids a multi-hour throughput penalty. In the end, we all get more done. Dayle, my windows system is way faster than two of my linux systems.
----------------------------------------But I don't care. All of them get work done. ![]() |

Is the approximate end date still around July?
I would like to try and get 5 years on this project but also want to achieve 5 years on FAAH2 so its going to be a balancing act between the 2 projects for me. |
