Thanks for your support, Tom!
To briefly address the other comment about the project: OpenZika has not been "extended" and there is no projected end date. Accurate information about project progress and news is in the monthly update recaps by WCG employees, project updates from the researchers, and (where applicable) the outside websites created by the researchers. For more information, please review Juan Hindo's post: https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg...ead,41583_offset,0#609250 |

But don't let us give you feedback for a "bad changes" you implemented for the users. |

We just finished our monthly call with the research team.
1. They are getting new batches ready for us--we should have them in the next two weeks if not sooner. 2. The researchers at UCSD are finishing up a round of testing on compounds with the potential to treat Zika. Their next step is to try to replicate their results. 3. The big news: they've reviewed their progress over the life of the project and realized that not only do they have a huge amount of data to analyze, but they've also almost completed all the work on World Community Grid that they set out to do. So the next round of batches will be the last. We don't have an exact ending date, since it will depend on how quickly the work is processed, but we think that the project's work on World Community Grid will end in late September or early October. We have a project update from them that we're reviewing and will publish tomorrow with more details. |

Thanks for the update. It is great to hear that we have nearly accomplished all of the computation that the scientists need for their work! I can't wait to see what results come of this.

Just finished our monthly call with the research team.
----------------------------------------1. We've received more work units from the team (see below). Our rough estimate is that these will last for 2-3 months. 2. There should be a few additional batches coming to us--more info on these in the coming weeks. 3. The researchers are running a large international conference in a few weeks (9th BrazMedChem 2019). They'll be presenting about the project at this conference. 4. They've been working with one of the Outsmart Ebola Together researchers to offer advice on data analysis. 5. They've received initial results on some promising compounds; these early results show that at least one of them may be referred for further testing. (This is a very early result, but still promising.) Below is the current status of OpenZika work units: Available for Download: 7,730 batches In Progress: 7,240 batches (2,088,404 work units) Completed: 443,976 total, 1,528 in the last 30 days, average of 51 per day [Edit 1 times, last edit by caitilarkin at Aug 12, 2019 7:22:34 PM] |

Completed: 44,3976 total, 1,528 in the last 30 days, average of 51 per day Is that comma in the first number misplaced ? I presume thet number reflects the number of batches. Cheers
