I'm eager to contribute to climate modelling.
----------------------------------------I saw in the earliest post questions about ClimatePrediction.net. I recall reading that their code was ancient and needs to be entirely rewritten. 7 months since last post was released on the Beta Forum! Any news on when we can expect some beta wu's? Hans, the development work to integrate the new research application into World Community Grid for the new project has been completed. We are now carrying out initial testing, before we begin beta testing. The way we're using the research application on World Community Grid is quite novel, which is introducing new challenges that require more rounds of testing, etc. This project continues to be the development team's top priority. I saw in the earliest post questions about ClimatePrediction.net... Teaming with WCG sure would up their game. We are in touch with the ClimatePrediction.net team about this project and they're interested in the work we're doing to run this research application on the BOINC infrastructure. Many thanks, Juan |

Rather keen to get my cores on these as well.

I see one active project has been completed, with another close to being done. Yes, OET finished but SCC and others will continue for awhile, despite what the progress bars and ECD are saying.Written in the Smash Childhood Cancer project update - December 2018 thread: The project is absolutely not finishing in two weeks, or any time soon. The project bar completion rates bounce around if researchers run through one set of work units before sending us the next set(s). These researchers are definitely sending us more. On a more general note, now that OET is complete on WCG, none of the other projects are slated to end soon, either. Please take the project completion bars with a grain of salt.  |
