Is anyone still affected by the too many uploads going, no new work being able to be downloaded? Thanks, -Uplinger 3 machines/24 cores idle because of stuck uploads. ![]() |

I have 2 machines running Linux from USB sticks.
One (Deimos) has crunched 5 CEP2 betas, and I've just resumed its 6th, 10h in, so that it can finish before its deadline. The other (Tethys) has never seen a CEP2-anything. I have installed the suggested app_config.xml on both. I restarted the BOINC client (but did not reset the project) on Tethys but have not retarted the client on Deimos because I don't want to lose 9+h of uncheckpointed CEP2 beta crunch time. On restarting BOINC on Tethys, the boincmgr Messages said: "Your app_config.xml file refers to an unknown application beta11". Running `ls beta*` in the project directory shows some beta22 and beta23 files, but no beta11 ones. The same happens with `ls wcgrid_beta*`. However, on Deimos, running `ls beta*` in the project directory shows some beta11 files, and `ls wcgrid_beta*` lists wcgrid_beta11_gfx* and wcgrid_beta11_qchem*. So it seems that until the first WU of a new science or beta has been downloaded, we can't determine its short name from the data inside our BOINC data directory. And if we want to restrict its max_concurrent, this info may arrive too late. Perhaps the WCG techs should give us the short name whenever a new science or beta test is announced, and perhaps someone could produce and maintain a list of them. |

Good morning everyone,
We are still in discussions with the researchers to get the upload server running smoothly. They have mentioned a plan to us to clear up some storage. I have let them know that as they clear the storage many of you have files that will be uploading. Again, I am sorry about this issue and hope to have it resolved today. Thanks, -Uplinger |

Whatever happened to Mimi, Momo and Meme multi-terabyte drives, these super-packs the CE team had at their disposal?
