----------------------------------------Thank You all for fixing the issues we have been stuggling with lately! Had only two that uploaded late this evening(20.30 cet). Now my biggest problem is to get new work with only HST,Beta and The Cep 2 when that may be ready to launch! Thankfully the problem is fixed - but I cannot say that was "well -done", just thank-you. That was awful management of a project...
----------------------------------------Why did it take the Harvard team so long to react? Surely if they had any interest in this project they would have been monitoring both their systems and this beta forum and started checking the moment an upload problem was reported. Not days later when notified by IBM. There should have been no need for Uplinger to get involved with a Harvard generated problem. Still no apology for this mess from Harvard - Uplinger shouldn't have to say sorry, nor report their resolution steps - they should have the balls to front up themselves when they create a situation like this...

Greetings,
I gone into the database and granted credit to any results that are in 'too late' status with claimed credit in the database. As for the "mess", there were a few different things that happened to cause this storm. 1st, this was our first major test against Harvards new upload servers. I had done testing against them to make sure the SSL certificate worked properly. However I was not able to test the storage on those devices. 2nd was the fact it was a holiday weekend for their university, again, something I did not plan for. For them not responding in the forums, the team that I engaged is their resource server team. I will also be also be working with their team to enable additional alerts against the new systems. Again, the researchers and the World Community Grid team are sorry for the issues for uploading and will have a permanent solution before we continue the beta tests. Thanks, -Uplinger |

Thanks Uplinger for the update, however...
----------------------------------------1. Surely Harvard has a project leader responsible for the Beta who should either himself or his delegate be monitoring the Beta progress. 2. You might not be aware of the holiday, but surely Harvard was and could have indicated this was not a good time for a Beta. 3. I would not expect a Harvard server team of append here - but the Harvard Beta project manager surely could have given a brief description of what was happening and say sorry.

First of all, thanks for getting things back working again.As for the start of this whole mess, I would put the responsibility square on the Harvard team. Pushing this Beta test out and then just disappear for a long weekend due to some obscure holiday, that is bad planning from the get go. This just had to provoke Mr.Murphy to strike as badly as he did...  Let's just hope that's a lesson learned. Ralf  |
