I've received 5 of 6 of these betas into a 2600K that's running Debian on a USB2.0 flash RAM stick. The first 3 all quit with Error status 12-14 sec into Job #1 with "process got signal 11": From my experience CEP tasks have far more read/writes to disk than a USB drive can handle, especially if you're running multiple tasks. May be the reason your tasks ended in errors. I killed several USB drives running the original CEP project.

Also the new unit runs for about 15-16 hours on my 6700 without any checkpoints in between? I regularly turns off my computers and lose all the progress.
I remember the old CEP2 at least checkpoints once every two hours or so. For upload, I am hitting the same error. May be the reason your tasks ended in errors. I killed several USB drives running the original CEP project. I think this might worth being look into by devs given people will be increasingly relying on SSDs. I run everything on an SSD that SMART showed around 100GB/day writes with one or two CEP units. Without CEP units, it's apparently only 30GB/day. So CEP is writing very heavily. (That's data from 2 years ago though. I then moved BOINC to HDD. After switching to pure SSD, I haven't got consistent stream of CEP2 units to verify the usage.) For people running slightly smaller SSD, 70GB/day just for one or two units could be a problem. (Definitely not something a USB stick can handle, except those SSD-class USBs like CZ80 and above, but I am not sure about their endurance honestly). |

----------------------------------------Abort - or - wait for completion time to expire? I had the upload problem on the WU. Its deadline is Monday, 10 Oct. at 12:05 PM about 15 hours from now. Should I just wait for the deadline? Should I just abort it now? Either way, I really don't like the idea of ithe WU being resent to another cruncher - to waste his/her time and then it fails on upload again. Suggestions? Love Letters? Advise? Best wishes to others in this same boat. I have 4 betas that have been trying to upload for over a day. Hope we all who crunched these don't lose out on crunch time because they fail to upload.
