Re: Best bang-for-the-buck Android device

Anyone have any thoughts on the new Atomic Pi. This is a $35 SBC but it x86 (intel atom.

Genuine Intel Atom x5-Z8350 quad core with 2M Cache. Runs up to 1.92GHz with a 480MHz GPU. Eats RPi for dessert. Beats some desktops.
Loaded with memory: 2GB DDR3L-1600, 16GB eMMC, slot for SD expansion (up to 256Gb)

This runs linux not android though. But the concept is the same and with diminishing support for android this may be of interest. They are sold out currently. I wish I would have got one.

That's nice...but android TV from China with quad-core costs about 1/2 of that price. ;)

A friend uses a x5-Z8300. The daily output is around 4500 wcg points.

There is also this little latte panda . Kind of pricey but would run windows/linux.

Interesting comparison of SBC computers here: 10 Best Raspberry Pi Alternatives Comparison: x86 And ARM SBCs For 2019 A table lists the basics of 20+ different SBCs, and ten are reviewed in more detail, but article omits any mention of the new Odroid N2.

sad Re: Best bang-for-the-buck Android device

I have just got my hands on the Odroid N2, just as OpenZika dried up! sad

They were panning out at around 6hrs per unit. The Latte Panda was taking around 9Hrs but does have the option of other projects as it's running Windows 10.

Re: Best bang-for-the-buck Android device

Over on the Odroid Users facebook page they are holding a poll asking "what would you use an Odroid N2 for". At the present time (2nd August), Game Emulation is leading with 19 votes, vrs Distributed Computing with only 3 votes. https://www.facebook.com/groups/Odroid/permalink/1402025486604694/

riMarkas, with SCS and Zika closing you won't have a project to try it on, at least at WCG.
