Re: MCM Progress Reports - October 30, 2016 23:59 UTC Update

Since I have recently learned the following information from WCG there is is no calculable end date. However I will still attempt to track the progress as it occurs. A big thanks to the WCG staff for making this available.
Recently another estimated 5,000 batches were added to the project. We are not able to say the exact number of additional batches that will be added in the future, but we are fully expecting to receive more work units for the Mapping Cancer Markers project. The researchers will turn to other cancer-type work units when the current ones near completion.
Last 30 day average results:511,202
Percentage Complete:Currently listed on the Research page:86%
The average length of a WU is currently running about 3.90 hours, slightly longer than last week, and still trending steady around the 4 hour mark. This continues to be remarkably steady.
Still have not seen any of the batches from 122278 to 122402. The ovarian units started with 122403 as the lowest number. My latest batch number was 127144 which would give about 179 batches for the week.
Production decreased a bit this past week going from about 3.6 million WU's to 3.57 million WU's completed. During this past week the time devoted to MCM1 was just under an average of 233 years per day, compared to 235 years per day the previous week. Just looking at the first couple of days in current week it appears the imminent end of UGM is pushing some additional hours toward MCM1, so this coming week should be interesting.
If I can think of anything else relevant to track, I will try. Any suggestions welcome.

Cheers

The average length of a WU is currently running about 4.15 hours, slightly longer than last week, and still trending steady around the 4 hour mark. This continues to be remarkably steady.
Still have not seen any of the batches from 122278 to 122402. The ovarian units started with 122403 as the lowest number. My latest batch number was 127315 which would give about 171 batches for the week.
Production increased a bit this past week going from about 3.57 million WU's to 3.99 million WU's completed. During this past week the time devoted to MCM1 was just over an average of 260 years per day, compared to 233 years per day the previous week. Just looking at the first couple of days in current week it appears the apparent end of UGM has pushed some additional hours toward MCM1 as well as the4 other active projects, so this coming week should be interesting. Re: MCM Progress Reports - November 6, 2016 23:59 UTC Update

Thanks Sgt.Joe!
On the subject of interesting things to track...I am not aware of what data is available in the API XML, but one thing I would find interesting:

Tracking number of users/host machines who have MCM selected (this could be interesting at moments when a new project arrives/old project ends etc).

The average length of a WU is currently running about 4.19 hours, slightly longer than last week, and still trending steady around the 4 hour mark. This continues to be remarkably steady.
Still have not seen any of the batches from 122278 to 122402. The ovarian units started with 122403 as the lowest number. My latest batch number was 127561 which would give about 246 batches for the week.
Production increased a bit this past week going from about 3.99 million WU's to 4.19 million WU's completed. During this past week the time devoted to MCM1 was just over an average of 281 years per day, compared to 260 years per day the previous week. UGM has officially ended (here) so additional resources are available to all the other projects. November 8, 2016 marks the start of the 4th year of the project. If I can think of anything else relevant to track, I will try. I did do a bit of poking around, but so far I can not find a way to access the hosts available per project information. Any suggestions welcome.

Re: MCM Progress Reports - November 20, 2016 23:59 UTC Update

That's a massive jump in both completed WUs and CPU time devoted.

Thanks for the update Sgt. Joe!
