Re: Quieter

@DCR
Smashed it
1 dcrobinson 580.15

1 dcrobinson 604.74
2 saturn-VI 527.96
3 Forficula 526.20

I shall now turn the wick back up. However, I'll only run my 3900X for the next week so it will be interesting to see what it scores with 24 threads rather than 4. This was just an experiment triggered by the current high electricity prices.

Re: Quieter

It might be ugly sick but it's boosted my numbers. biggrin

330 Watts 'at the wall' not bad. PSU is 96% efficient which probably helps although it only really achieves that at much higher load, the Node is drawing 303 watts from it but it's capable of supplying 1600 so probably need another node or two to find the sweet spot.

iLO is amazing on it, you can remotely control the CPU speed among dozens of other things, reboot, install new O/S, even log into it as you would over something like VNC.
Temperature diagram.

That temperature chart is amazing, and the lights out stuff sounds amazing too. I'm a big fan of server grade components. They won't win performance medals, but the stability and reliability more than makes up for that in my mind.
It will be interesting to see what your "watt hours per point" ends up as.

Yes once it settles I'll do some sums.

Here's another one for you, it's zoomed so fluctuations are exaggerated.
24 Hour power usage
Yep server grade stuff is cool and it's really built to take a knock, it's tragic how quickly this stuff becomes worthless junk though, If only we had limitless free green power.

Re: Quieter

Now it's 7 days here's the very inaccurate points per kW-h with a bit of MCM and OPN so quite variable the two Ubuntu boxes are running the same WCM device profile with only 0.3days downloaded so should be more comparable though.

New Ubuntu XL170R node : 36,948 (e.g. just over 2 million points and consumed 55.4kWh)
Ubuntu workstation similar spec : 32,936
Win10 Workstation (more RAM) : 27,047

Based on power draw at the wall.

With your DIY skills Andy, I'm surprised you haven't mounted your server in a waterproof box and submerged it in the garden pond smile

Re: Bling

More Bling! Diamond 20 OPN, yesterday lunchtime

As I said earlier, it's still quite a thrill, let's see what's next...

Diamond 5 ARP?

Edit
It looks like I'll hit D5 ARP in just under 14 days...I'm running one of my machines 24/7 now, running 20 ARP at a time. CPU @ 98-100% around 34C
