Re: More Bling!

That's great news Dave. What's a lockdown? Bolivia is rapidly heading for zero new cases (not because every one is dead as some comedian pointed out - Reminds me of Red Dwarf - 'They're all dead Dave").
I hope all is OK with everyone and if you have succumbed to Covid then you have risen again like the Phoenix.

Yeah Bolivia is looking much better, I keep an eye out for it in the stats, hope it's not just the 'first wave'. How did they manage it?
Apparently the ONS say 1% of people in England currently have the virus which sounds quite shocking https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-51768274

Don't ask me how Bolivia has managed it. All I can say is that it is four times the size of the UK with only a sixth of the population. Unfortunately Santa Cruz has about 2 million people who have the attitude that if told by the government to turn left, they would all walk to the right. Today as I type we have a lockdown forced by the opposition political parties who are doing a Trump and claiming (without evidence) that the election was a fraud (because their party did not win). Nothing to do with COVID, just sheer bloody mindedness.

Re: More Bling!

Those of you who are interested in the development of the pandemic might like to look here.
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/
To really see which country is good and which is bad, I sort by cases per million and deaths per million. Ignoring counties with less than a couple of million population gives you the true league table of who is managing the crisis best. Bolivia does not come out very well even though a second wave is yet to be confirmed (but the government is warning that another wave is on its way)

Yep but it almost didn't happen, I posted a few months back about a server I picked up cheaply but couldn't make it quiet so I didn't run it and put it on Ebay, surprisingly no-one wanted it so I kept it and made a plywood box for it. It's been running in my garage for a couple of months now. Don't worry I wont catch you before you hit the billion points (I did look it up though devilish ) smile

It's an Apollo R2600 Gen10, can support up to 224 physical cores but I've only got 1 node in it with 48 cores. I picked up the node for £240, hard to say no when it'll run QL1K ES 8160 processors which are as cheap as chips too. Shame about the noise but it's tame enough now, just wishing I'd taken the plunge and bought more nodes, they're £600-£900 normally I just didn't know enough about them when that deal was available.

250 years that's amazing, shame there's no badge to highlight that.
