Re: Is that a challenge

Happy Birthday to our resident stats guru DC, Have a great day DC.

My birthday was yesterday and we happen to be the the same age.

I had a BBQ for lunch, a game of Belfast Edition Monopoly, which I surprisingly won, the wife got City Hall and Stormont after only 4 times around the board, she also got about £600 in extra bonus money from chance etc, I got stung for £400 in the cards, and only had Belfast Giants, City Airport and the Odyssey Arena to show for it. But my luck turned when I got Ulster Hall, the C.S. Lewis Centenary Statue and Windsor Park in 2 rounds of the board.

Haven't played monopoly for years used to love it though - Looks like you swept up the Orange ones in 2 rounds, nice.

You're quite correct Mac1. Every time I get the orange properties I have won the game.
My 7yr old boy is picking the game up nicely and made 2 good trades. The first few games he played, he just wanted to give his properties and money away, not fully understanding what the game was about. He wanted to give Mrs DMNI a £500 note just because she said she had not much money left, Sweet, but hardly monopolistically ruthless.

Re: Is that a challenge

For the first time ever, I've managed 1 million points in a 7-day period. That's thanks to a strong wind and strong sun, and hence very cheap electricity. Earlier in the week I was getting paid to consume electricity during the day.
And I've got my first couple of Open Pandemic beta units.

Very sweet, not investment banker devilish material ... thankfully!

That's awesome and really shows the changes in our energy sources, a positive message. Lots of crunching going on across the team. cool

There were a couple of days earlier in the week where the UK was running entirely off renewables for several hours. This is partly due to a 17% reduction in demand due to COVID-19, but it just shows what we could do with more domestic solar, more onshore and offshore wind, and a Severn barrage and some tidal lagoons to provide the base load. I'd rather have that than a £120bn train set.

Many congrats DC, that's some achievement!

It makes me realise just how much I miss my crunching farm! Looking at your post prompted me to look up my best points performance...

I'd forgotten just how many points were amassed back then, a whopping 2,110,846 in a day! But I did have some serious crunchers running.

For those on here that were not about when my farm was, the list included:
2 x 96 core servers (each having, 4 nodes, each node = 2 x 6 core/12 thread)
2 x 64 core (quad CPU custom built)

And many, many more... my account lists 96 devices, some were rebuilds of the same machines, but many were unique builds, some of which were documented in this forum. and all were my private hobby machines, completely funded by me, with the exception of some located in server rooms, thus the power costs were covered.

Oh! how I miss those days... And building the machines.
Still, I'm doing my bit now, even if it is just a bit. Currently have 12 cores full time with my main machine (24 cores) part time.

Re: Is that a challenge

It has been a long time coming, but I finally have my 1st 100 year Badge biggrin Back when I 1st started, I dreamed of getting 5 years on any one project, getting that on just one, I never imagined it would be possible dancing

Well done TMC, that's an incredible effort, reckon I've got another 6 months to go on that one, hope the project keeps giving out WU's for that long. Are you sticking with that or focusing on another project now?

One of the CPU fans died in my big PC over the weekend, can't believe it's been running two years already. Luckily I put in some Arctic fans (much quieter) when I bought it so I had an original one to pop back in. Thought I'd give Noctua a go for the replacement - supposed to be quite quiet too.
