Good Evening / Night / Morning (delete as appropriate for your time zone)
----------------------------------------Here it is, my long awaited milestone... 27-iMac.lan 09/18/2017 23:56:24 50:002:07:46:16 63,951,489 146,119 50 years CPU time crunching WCG on my iMac. The computor is a bit like the 50 year old janitor's broom which has had new bristles and a new handle or two in it's life but it is still 50 years old. This iMac was bought in the UK (in late 2010) - shipped to Egypt - in 2012 to Bolivia - returned to the UK in 2013 and then back to Bolivia in 2014 where, apart from power cuts, it has crunched 24/7. I wonder if it will last another 7 years and reach the century. Who knows.....

Morning all, and congrats Rod!
----------------------------------------![]() I just checked, and I am getting close to that on my main server (which, given its age now, is pretty inaccurately-named compared to newer CPU-power): leviathan : 09/19/2017 07:13:22 : 47:184:14:08:21 : 58,667,647 : 154,914 However, not too bad considering its first work-units were returned on the 21st September 2015! ![]() ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Thargor at Sep 19, 2017 8:17:19 AM] |

Good Morning to those of you 5 hours ahead of me. It has been baking hot here today with temperatires of 39C No rain is forecast for the next 7 days so I hope that the irrigation holds up. I have now expanded the system so that there are four hose attachment points in each corner of the garden allowing local extra watering during the day. Every night about 7 cubic metres (7 tonnes) of water is spread on the garden. This does not include the individual watering of about 400 individual pot plants that have yet to be integrated into permanent positions. Then there are the indoor plants which require daily watering too. Tomorrow I am going to embark on improving the garden fence by placing a half inch square mesh to a 1 metre height around the perifery in order to support climing plants. I really think that I am working harder now than i ever did for my 41 years in the oil and gas industry.

Good Morning All.
----------------------------------------Lovely coolish day here today with diffuse sunlight. One of our trees has literally flowered overnight. I was examining it yesterday as most of the leaves are in the process of falling off (normal for this time of year) and I noticed a (very) few flower buds. This morning it is a mass of delicate white flowers with yellow and pink overtones, quite spectacular. The flowers will probably only last a few days so it is out with the camera to record the event.
