Get better soon Dave, a bit of Spanish sun will do your back the power of good. I must admit to a wry smile though given the cause of your injury, it brings to mind a scene in the film 'Fatal Attraction'. Nuf said. Thanks. I don't remember the scene, but in my case I was literally just standing over a sink, slightly leaning forward for 10 minutes or so, and my back must have locked. My GP has prescribed a cocktail of unpleasant drugs. She doesn't think I'll be fit to travel, but advised me not to give up hope yet.

----------------------------------------Get better soon Dave, a bit of Spanish sun will do your back the power of good. Ah what a pity Dave I hope you recover and can lie in the sun at the weekend even though you will miss the Bahrain GP. My reference to the film 'Fatal Attraction' 1987 was about Michael Douglas' one night stand with Glenn Close (who later stalked him and his family). The 'Action' took place in front of the kitchen sink - hence my wry smile. Clearly they were not washing up and I recall it was Glenn (extremely) Close who was leaning back and Michael Douglas leaning forward. No backs were injured during the shooting of the scene!

Has anyone else noticed that SCC seems to have reentered the 'Cheap' mode with points yields plummetting? From a healthy 70,000 points a day (for 18+ days of CPU) it has now gone over the cliff edge and dropped to ~ 50,000 - crazy as the WU durations have changed little.

Had a quick check, RTS, and there does seem to be a bit of a drop off in points but I have also noticed that the last few days have seen some fairly short running units too, taking around 1.5hrs as opposed to a week or so ago taking around 3-4hrs on the same machine.

Good eveming all.
----------------------------------------I have just noticed that project SCC which started in January is reporting 92% complete. I suspect this means that it will cease before the end of this month. It looks like my diamond 5 will be out of reach.

Morning all.
----------------------------------------I know it was mentioned somewhere on the forum that if SCC does end at the current predicted end date then it will be one of the shorter projects here. Unfortunately there has been no response as to whether it will end then or if there are plans to extend the life of the project. As I was a bit late to the party, I will pass 180 days to get ruby for the project but that will be the last milestone unless more units are added. If the project does end this quickly then we'll have to hope it gives the scientists with what they wanted to find out. Due to the name of the project, I wonder if there will be future work, similar to how MCM has been extended. |

Thanks Rod. We've had to cancel. If I was lying in the sun I'd probably be OK, but sadly we were planning 5 days of frantic site-seeing in Madrid and Toledo. Oh well, they'll still be there later in the year. I'm at the lopsided hobbling around stage at the moment, and can just about roll over in bed, eventually. Getting from sitting to standing is a slow and carefully process. At least the Diazepam has stopped the spasms and given me a more relaxed attitude to it all ![]()

Hey DC, It's my birthday on Saturday, 52 this time around.
----------------------------------------Were you able to reschedule your holiday? Happened to me once when I lost my passport, got the holiday rescheduled for 3 months later. The wife never let me forget it and has my passport locked away somewhere. ![]() |
