Good morning everyone. I have just suffered a mental breakdown and bought a mountain bike (and one for my partner). This of course will not stop there with the necessity for helmets, gloves, lights, bike carriers for the car, cycle locks, iPhone holders for navigationetc. etc. At the moment we will confine ourselves to laps of the condominium roads which were completed a year or so ago. To be fair I used to cycle about 3000 miles a year including the usual charity rides (Birmingham - Oxford, Birmingham - Worcester - Birmingham, The Norwich Century to name a few). One thing is ceratain, I will not be venturing onto the public highway in a hurry. I'll keep you all psted

8" centipedes in your garden, and there was me annoyed to see one of the local cats do a pooh in my garden! Had a look at some images of them critters, there's some evil looking blighters out there.
----------------------------------------Stay safe on those bikes and from your previous posts I wouldn't be venturing out on to the public highway either. |

Stay safe on those bikes and from your previous posts I wouldn't be venturing out on to the public highway either. At the last count we had around 11 cats. Yes they pooh in the garden (which is infinitely better than doing it in the house) and they also bring us little gifts - like scorpions - sometimes still alive. I guess it is one of the prices that you pay for living in the tropics but my viewpoint is that everything has a place and a purpose (or at least an environmental niche) in this world and it would be a better place to live in if everyone took that attitude (preacher mode off). Mosquitos however I can't abide and I feel quite justified in devising traps for the little b*st*rds. We actually have industrial sized electrostatic / UV insect killers on our patio and in our BBQ area which seem quite effective (judging by the sounds of frying insects). Even so a family of 'Potter Wasps' actually built their home within one of them. It's a mad world!

Good Morning All. I stayed up last night and early this morning in the hope of listening to the Chines F1 practice sessions on BBC Radio 5 live (via the F1 App on my iPad. What a complete disaster! The first session was red flagged twice with the collective total of laps being 124 and the second session was cancelled completely without a wheel being turned. Why? - because Shanghai was so overcast and polluted that the medical helicopter could not land at the designated emergency hospital some 40 km away. Even the airport was closed for a while. What this will mean for qualifying and the race, goodness only knows. I'll try to listen again tonight.
