Good Morning All.
----------------------------------------Dave I've been doing my bit for you (not crunching MCM) for quite a while now as I aim for my Diamond 5 FAH2 and my Diamond 20 OET (not to mention ruby, emerald and sapphire HST). Good luck with all of your goals. BYW I have 6 connected HDDs too (15 Tb) but with more than 1Tb of photographs and over 2Tb of music and films backed up 4 times I rest my case

Good Morning All. Dave I've been doing my bit for you (not crunching MCM) for quite a while now as I aim for my Diamond 5 FAH2 and my Diamond 20 OET (not to mention ruby, emerald and sapphire HST). Good luck with all of your goals. BYW I have 6 connected HDDs too (15 Tb) but with more than 1Tb of photographs and over 2Tb of music and films backed up 4 times I rest my case 6 years 230 days to go, at ~20 days per day elapsed. I still on target for a mid-August Diamond 20 badge. One backup is sensible, 4 backups is paranoia I hope that at least one of those backups is offsite Rod... and that you keep historical backups so that when you delete something important (and don't notice until you've already backed everything up) you've got old copies to fall back on.I have several hundred CDs FLAC encoded, and about 80GB of photographs. I can still get away with 2GB of server storage (4x1TB laptop drives in RAID 10). I'm only using about half of that, and that includes a number of virtual machines and mail servers and the like. I only have 3GB of backup space - although I have another two 3GB disks, that so that I can store one copy at the office, and I never have all my copies in the same place at the same time (now that's proper paranoia ).I've never felt a desperate urge to rip movie DVDs to hard disk Darkmatter, although I have encoded a few music ones.

I've never felt a desperate urge to rip movie DVDs to hard disk Darkmatter, although I have encoded a few music ones. I have nearly a 1000 Movie DVD's and 600 CD's (Flac encoded also) and a meagre 4 Blu-ray as well as over 400 DVD's of Documentaries. All bought before my disability struck. I have about 2TB spare after all that. Also have about 15TB (real storage) of backup drives which just about backs up everything. ![]() |

Ah, didn't realise you were disabled (am I allowed to call it that?) Darkmatter. I've not been hanging around this forum long enough to know everyone's histories. Sounds like you need to buy a few of those new 8TB disks. Good morning everyone, except Brad who will be asleep in bed. I remember (just) when I used to stay up after midnight voluntarily. Paul D - come back! I hope we haven't scared you off. hmuk - welcome to the team! Check out my stats page to see how you're doing (it takes 7 days before you're on all the stats). domonijo - congrats on the 2nd Sapphire badge in one week. Nice. We've dropped a points place today. Oh well, we're still crunching above our current world ranking, so eventually it'll all be ok ![]()

Good morning, team! ![]() Getting slowly closer to my next badge (Diamond-50 MCM), although pushing through the 150 million points milestone will happen first! You should hit 150 million points tomorrow... could be worth a minor alcoholic celebration.
