So my Quad is rolling along nicely crunching GFAM and SN2S and set to a cache of 1.2 days so it would have about 130 hours IP.
I crunch and validate 8 HCC GPU WU and now my cache is at over 700 hours suggesting that Server7 still cannot correctly manage the DCF. But I have long since stopped worrying if I won't complete them all in time. There wasn't anything I could do to prevent this. |

I followed that proceedure but get "Message from server: This project doesn't support computers of type anonymous " and no work download. How did you create the "app_info.xml" file? If you use Notepad, be sure to use "Save As" with the .xml extension. If you save it as a .txt file and change the extension later, it won't work. |

It works, but no CPU WUs now....

Are you using an older version of BOINC? 7.0.36 64-bit works perfectly for me (Win7 64-bit). http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=6698&nowrap=true#45639 |

No, I saved with 'Save As' with the .xml extension and type as File *.* instead of .txt. |

The DCF, server side is now switched off. The caching problem as understood *is* as knreed put it "(pure) BOINC client code". I've been running 7.0.36x64 quite satisfactorily. Also per knreed, the security audit checking of code and other WCG particular requirements has commenced this week. Hopefully the process will progress swiftly, then of course a test period will commence [public beta], after which the version will be endorsed to also be suited for larger roll-out.
Meantime, the project stats, day 2 with GPU: 10/12/2012 20:039:11:35:26 59,485,357 258,257 < Noon Results 10/11/2012 40:317:16:43:36 106,993,777 463,855 10/10/2012 38:236:09:38:35 54,282,490 227,808 10/09/2012 39:041:15:19:44 52,148,741 225,143 10/08/2012 41:185:01:23:56 55,301,173 239,717 The above points at > half a million results for the day... and GPU crunching has it's [fatal] attraction... more years crunched today maybe than any other day of the last week. So much for the foot-down [not good enough] ;>) Way to go WCG... great job for the first co-processor outing! |

I'm having a slightly different problem in that I get two notifications:
----------------------------------------'File referenced in app_info.xml does not exist: hcckernel.cl.6.56' and 'File referenced in app_info.xml does not exist: wcg_hcc1_img_6.56_windows_intelx86__ati_hcc1' I was having the same problem on 7.0.28 Windows 7 64 bit BOINC 7.0.36 ATI HD6990 |

Order to get it working correctly (the nice way): Set No New Work for WCG. If queue empty, save the mentioned files in app_info.xml together with the app_info.xml file in a save place. Reset the project WCG in BOINC Manager. Stop BOINC. Copy the saved files into the WCG project directory. Restart BOINC. |

Way to go WCG... great job for the first co-processor outing! I would like to thank SekeRob, Knreed and all the Techs and Community Advisors that have made this a successful roll out. Your quick response to everyone's questions and concerns has been outstanding and has made this relatively painless. By following the posts I have been able to tweek my two GPU crunchers to reach a "set and forget" state and look forward to many months of HCC crunching. |
