Re: Computing for Sustainable Water project nearing completion

Yes that is correct. But this is an estimate and I reserve the right to be wrong :) I will give periodic updates on how things are looking.

Thanks,

Re: Computing for Sustainable Water project nearing completion

Where oh where are my wingmen from last week, or where are they now? If I could get some of them to finish up their runs of the same CSFW WUs, I would be SOOOO close to putting up that Gold Badge. At least the four WUs that I had to abort a few days ago actually got completed by someone else, so now at least my newest WUs that are finished are going valid without a need for a wingman. Only a little over 6 days of validated work to go and Gold is mine.... biggrin

Re: Computing for Sustainable Water project nearing completion

By leaving gaps in the distribution the highest serie isn't so important to know, but anyway, UTC+2:
04.09.2012 23:01:59 | World Community Grid | Started download of cfsw_18134_18134072_D18134072.sql

This indicates 685 series since yesterday, but isn't very interesting since has no idea how many series has really been issued.

Now, where is the status-page showing the actual info then you needs it...

So you and andzgrid like to go on and on and on about a [server] status page: Here's the one from the multi project PG: http://www.primegrid.com/server_status.php . Apart from some technical and *general* feed information item [17,095 presently to send], it tells me nothing about how much is in the specific science feeder, which science feeders are running, which validators are running, and how much more will be generated and readied till the end of any project. The sub-project page is even less informative. Work unit names, series, structure... I don't see it? What I do see, if you drill further you get to see who the wingman is... and that is, a no no at WCG. With 12 projects at WCG it seems to me like a lot of work required the configure and maintain for the public eye. If the techs want [have resources] to spend time on this and support... great, but else. Can live without. Been doing it for 7 years.

P.S. Surely, other projects have different [more worked up] versions. FTM, the PG version [if out-of-the-box] just does not impress me as useful at the individual science level for the greater member quorum. Can't see how much there's still to process till the end.

Re: Computing for Sustainable Water project nearing completion

I've grabbed about 70 days of work in my machines buffers which will be enough to reach sapphire.
So I am setting buffers back to normal on all devices and go to other projects.

Good luck to all badge hunters, I hope you will hit your targets ;)

Re: Computing for Sustainable Water project nearing completion

Igor, I'm aware my wingman WUs are in someone's caches and most have target dates of 9/07 and trying to be patient while they resolve themselves. About 1/3 of them I had piled up from 8/28 have finally come in over the past couple days. Problem is I suspect many of the rest of these WUs will be in someone elses cache's come 9/08. Still crunching my built up cache from this past weekend, and figure on hitting Gold probably sometime this next weekend - Monday 9/10 at the latest....

Re: Computing for Sustainable Water project nearing completion

My current run time on this project is 1:344:14:27:45. I should reach Sapphire by the end of the week. Then I'll release all the unstarted task of my buffer for the other badge hunters.

Re: Computing for Sustainable Water project nearing completion

rbotterb, one of the issues (as I'm sure you're aware), is that, in many cases, people may not actually realise that the WU's in their cache may, in fact, be quorum 2 - due to the fact that they've been issued the _0 copy. Whenever I see a WU with a non _0 copy, I try to shove it to the front of the queue - thing is, when there's so many of them, this can be tricky to spot (and certainly, almost impossible to check that the _0 copies don't have another copy elsewhere waiting).

So, as indicated by others, patience is (unfortunately) required.

Re: Computing for Sustainable Water project nearing completion

Whew, I've made emerald at last, and have not the slightest chance to make sapphire. I have returned all the uncompleted tasks I had for others to try and make their goals. Good luck all and hope you make your goals!
