Re: Beta test for Say No to Schistosoma (May 24, 2012) Issues Thread

andzgrid, you can test a hard OS shutdown if you want, I have tested this on my machine and did not see anything out of the norm.
Done. I just gave my windows SN2S-beta-WUs the ultimate test: I pulled the plug on my windows machine. Result: the 2-SN2S-beta-WUs resumed from the available checkpoint on resumption. I still can't break those beta-SN2S-WUs ! Things continue to look good. smile

Re: Beta test for Say No to Schistosoma (May 24, 2012) Issues Thread

fredski,

Removing the redundancy issue will help allow us to run this app on all processors. That is one of the main goals we want to achieve with this, but only time will tell on that for production.

andzgrid,

SWEET, that is what I saw as well on my machine, nothing broke with it. Please make sure they validate properly, but I don't think that'll be an issue.

Thanks,
-Uplinger

Re: Beta test for Say No to Schistosoma (May 24, 2012) Issues Thread

Successfully shutdown and restarted two machines, each was running two Beta work units, one thinkpad running windows vista and one older desktop running windows XP, both restarted from last checkpoint, no issues ..only thing a little strange is that the work units are running slower on the laptop than the older machine which is not normally the case, almost twice as long.

A few boxes snagged a few tasks each, Vista and W7, Core2 Quads. As with other shutdown posts, no troubles here.

Re: Beta test for Say No to Schistosoma (May 24, 2012) Issues Thread

Well, got a total of 21 Beta WUs across a whole range of hosts, but unfortunately, almost all of them are either server or remote laptops where I do not have the option/chance to test any shutdown/restart issues...

One strange thing to report though is that one of the WUs resulted in an error with a runtime of 0.00, but claiming 238.7 credits. Looks like this was also one of the first of those Betas that have been send out.

It is on a Windows 7 64bit laptop, if that is of any interest, and here's what little the result log shows:

Result Log

Result Name: BETA_ SN2S_ smp005470_ 0000000_ 0384_ 1--

Re: Beta test for Say No to Schistosoma (May 24, 2012) Issues Thread

Brazoria,

That sounds like a bad work unit ligand got it's way in to the batch. I will need to as the other WCG guys if a scan has been done on these ligands yet. It may have missed a scan as I grabbed the newer work units from the grid.

Thanks to all who have responded or made comments in the forums!
