Re: Work Now Available for Beta Test

Some additional observations. We have some inconclusive results that we need to analyze. Additionally, we need to add additional logic to filter out the cards that we know will not be able to run the application. Once we have done that we will run another round.

The set of work for this first round has been distributed.

angry Re: Work Now Available for Beta Test

Howdy all,

I have also some questions: Should the betas be about the same length ? It seems that in my machine ( Intel 2600, 4.2 GHZ ) the betas run about 2 min OR about one hour devilish

The GPU is recognized by BOINC OK:

12/03/2012 22:12:10 | | ATI GPU 0: AMD Radeon HD 6800 series (Barts) (CAL version 1.4.1646, 1024MB, 991MB available, 2976 GFLOPS peak)
12/03/2012 22:12:10 | | OpenCL: ATI GPU 0: Barts (driver version CAL 1.4.1646 (VM), device version OpenCL 1.1 AMD-APP (831.4), 2048MB)
12/03/2012 22:12:10 | | ATI GPU is OpenCL-capable

Output of the couple of beta results :

FAST:

<core_client_version>7.0.3</core_client_version>

Is the both OK ? ( the second one seems to lack the "execution phase" and have only the analysis ) Or is the second one output of the actual beta at all ?

Sorry if there is some simple logic behind the two separate execution times, I have not had time to read any beta announcement infos confused

JEklund
Your slow one appears to be a CPU Beta not a GPU Beta.

Re: Work Now Available for Beta Test

I would hazard to say the first is GPU and the 2nd CPU WU's.

Tho I could be wrong.

Re: Work Now Available for Beta Test

I have 1 task that refuses to start. I move it to the top of the cache, suspend the other tasks that are running and it just sits there in ready to start mode

Re: Work Now Available for Beta Test

Do you have your GPU set to "use GPU while computer is in use"?

Yes. Judging from the estimated run time this is a CPU WU. This is also an ATI 4350 but it finished 1 task already so I would expect this one should run too.

Just took a closer look at the application name. It's a GPU task
