@ IBM Tech's: Apparently some one opened a GPU Support Forum but I am unable to open a thread in it. Can we get that fixed?
----------------------------------------http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/listthreads?forum=560 Every time someone posts to the work available thread, every one rushes there to see if there is new work. It would be good to seperate questions/problems from new work announcements. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Dataman at Mar 16, 2012 1:27:41 AM] |

Just got 2 Beta GPU
----------------------------------------NVIDIA GPU 0: GeForce GTX 560 Ti 448 (driver version 28566, CUDA version 4010, compute capability 2.0, 1280MB, 1428 GFLOPS peak) Both finished just over 4 min. and I think about 1.5 min. of that was CPU time. It looks like these will definitely benefit from keeping a free thread on the CPU. The first 30 seconds were all CPU and the last minute or so also all CPU... GPU never went above 90% and stayed below 60 deg. Now I just need a few hundred more [Edit 2 times, last edit by Former Member at Mar 16, 2012 5:25:08 AM] |

We will be starting a second round of beta testing in a few minutes. The app is called 'beta3' or 'Beta Testing - Help Conquer Cancer' (since we didn't mention that earlier). This round of testing will only be for GPU devices (on Windows) so the set of work will be available for longer before running out. I thought this is only for GPU. Im getting WUs for CPU. |

No, this is for both. There are lots of CPU Beta's right now but the GPU ones are sparce at the moment.

@ IBM Tech's: Apparently some one opened a GPU Support Forum but I am unable to open a thread in it. Can we get that fixed? Fixed Great to see it's opened for posts. I started a thread for folks to post time crunched on a GPU to help folks who are buying a new GPU decide what they want to invest in.
Crunching for humanity since 2007!

This GTX 560 /448 card loves these !
----------------------------------------It works a lot harder playing games. Peaks at 92% GPU usage and 65% fan speed @ 58 Deg. And is using only 130W ! (220 watts CPU + 130 Watts GPU = 350 Watts ) Sweet Was a little worried about only having a 550W PSU but it turns out I could be running 2 GPU cards ! At 4 minutes each I could run a ship load of these each day ! Just noticed , running these bugged out my c4cw time to completion estimate. Was saying 02:12:00 before and now it says 06:50:59 They are still running just over 2 hours but the ETA estimate is now off ... Oh well... Just discovered two beta units on one of my Linux boxes. I'm not complaining, I was just under the impression there was only Windows beta work thus far.
