I am still hesitating to go the dual or quad socket way. Maybe if the price of the latest Intel 8-10 cores goes way down.

Dual socket is a great way to go. Less machines to manage. Currently running a dual X5670 system (my main rig) and a dual X5650 (currently one processor). Should have my other processor soon. Would love a quad processor system. Probably my next build.
