100-K Device Challenge: how did it go?

Now that Jan 2012 is here, any news about how the 100-K Device Challenge fared?
;

Edit1:
JeanPierre, I guess I missed supplying the devils details. smile Sorry about that. Below is the relevant detail.

To help accelerate our critical humanitarian research, we would like to Challenge our community to add 100,000 new devices to World Community Grid by December 31, 2011!
So, we are already past December 31, 2011, I was just wondering how it all went, and I'm hoping for the best there. If, by some measure, it didn't go as well as may have been originally wanted, it's OK by me -- for WCG is still my beloved team nonetheless.

100,000 Device Challenge
As we celebrate the 7th birthday of World Community Grid we are extremely thankful for the continued contribution that our members are making by donating their unused computer cycles toward humanitarian research.

For the first time ever, World Community Grid is running ten (10) research projects simultaneously and we have more research projects in the review process. Having more research projects means that more computer cycles are needed so that we can continue to speed results back to our research scientists! To get more computer cycles, more devices are needed.

To help accelerate our critical humanitarian research, we would like to Challenge our community to add 100,000 new devices to World Community Grid by December 31, 2011!

Re: 100-K Device Challenge: how did it go?

Wasn't there a request to have 100K more CPUs/devices running WCG by/in 2012? Although I do confess that I don't recall if it was by 2012 or during 2012 confused

Re: 100-K Device Challenge: how did it go?

I posted on a few relevent articles on MSN news web sites (news vine) and tried to de-rail the the trolls and troll hunters by posting links to the great work WCG has accomplished. Also with links to how they could join the research , and what it could do for all of humanity . I did this on previous occasions on and off over a year and a half with some results. I think I got a few more of them this time simply by asking them up front---are you helping or are you just complaining about not being able to help?

I respect all of the serious crunchers out there, but for me I could care less if I was number 1 or 3 million, if even one of the results returned is valid then it is pure.
