Re: "The survivors"

The forum said that the server maintenance will start at 15:00 on 10/12/2012 but that is twelve hours from now.
I hope server/filesystem problems are not back.
My work queue is set to 1.5 days but the scheduler is not giving me new tasks.
If I run out of work I may turn off 3 of my PCs.
Might be a good time to do dust removal.

Re: "The survivors"

Due to the GPU tasks my results and points are skyrocketing. biggrin
It will take a few days to be able to determine how much of a bump.

Continue to get error messages in the event logs of all PCs but WUs are trickling in and have not run out of work.

The scheduler has put a restriction on the number of tasks in progress for all PCs. sad
10/12/2012 7:50:22 PM | World Community Grid | This computer has reached a limit on tasks in progress
On the i7 the work queue is set to 1.0+0.0 days and the other PCs are set to 1.0+0.5 days.
I have run larger queues without problems so I think this is a problem in the servers/filesystem.
The GPU work is probably stress testing the servers more so than CFSW did.

Re: "The survivors"

nasher,
There are other crunchers having issues with GPU and some have stopped doing GPU on WCG or gone to other BOINC GPU projects.
I take it that the computing preferences and activity tab were of no help, is that correct?

Hopefully WCG/IBM will fix any problems so that WCG GPU is as friendly as other BOINC GPU projects.

The GPU project is accelerating the HCC1 project and it looks like WUs are going quickly so anyone needing some tasks to get a badge for that project take heed.

Re: "The survivors"

A programmer has a sense of humor:

A snippet from the error log of a FAAH work unit (failed after 6.5 hrs of cpu processing - what a waste of resources)

autogrid4: WARNING: I just prevented an attempt to take the arccosine of -1, a value less than -1.

99.44% of other FAAH units run just fine, so it's an isolated incident. biggrin

grumpygrampy,
Reminds me of a comment in #1ESS code that said "you can't get here, but you did".

Re: "The survivors"

Days of tasks remaining for HCC1 is 502.
On 10/13/2012 it was 688.
At this rate the HCC1 WUs will be gone in 7-10 days.
