Cheers everyone, will start playing with Linux next week (I'll need the dual core to help with the Snail, my quad crashed out last night and had to reinstall, lost all work units
---------------------------------------- ).Once I'm good on Linux, I'll start thinking about rolling it out across all systems ![]() ![]() ![]() |

The UK team has advanced one place in the Points rankings to #83, passing America (USA).
---------------------------------------- Next up are UTBM #82 - 16 days and ESU #81 20 days . Estimates for advancement in Points and Results rankings are liable to be fluid for a while, as CfSW comes to an end and resources are re-allocated to other projects. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by jonnieb-uk at Sep 14, 2012 9:18:37 AM] |

There was only time for 2 results (UK team) from yesterday's HCC Beta test to be validated before the overnight update. Admittedly a very small sample but the Average points per hr came out at 1,162.96 compared with the AllTime 94.48 (Global) and 91.54 (UK team) averages!

Oh yeah you cant beat ubuntu server if you just want to run a headless server. Just install, apt-get boinc, edit the prefence file for remote control and restat boinc, takes no time at all

The team has just taken a little jump in stats, my new i7-3770k is now crunching and my old dual core will be joining it in a couple of hours
---------------------------------------- Dual will help until I get blue for the snail, then 2x i7 and a quad until I get 5 years on HFCC I'll then alternate so that each system can have some good downtime and a good clean ![]() ![]() ![]() |

@ themoonscrescent
---------------------------------------- Good to hear! Any increase in resources is good, even if intermittent. In other news: It seems that the CfSW well has run dry. I'm short of 21 validated hrs but with 37 hrs languishing in the P/V gaol I should be okay for Ruby. [edit]Seems it was a temporary shortage and that there's still 2-3 days of new work available. eLDee who retired from the UK team last month has "emigrated". Now showing as Netherlands and the Smiling Faces team. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by jonnieb-uk at Sep 14, 2012 2:06:53 PM] |

How many points per day does it average?

How many points per day does it average? As soon as a few validate I'll let you know. Stats so far: running time though is 4.47 hrs - 5.01 hrs for Snail on the i7-3770k (Asking for 136.1 points for 4.47 hrs), comparing that to 7.6 hrs - 9.28 hrs on the i7-870 (achieved 121.6 points for 7.6 hrs). UPDATE: I received 131.5 (asked for 136.1), points for 4.47 hrs work on the i7-3770k, but am still having to have wing men on this 1st batch though, so overall points will hopefully be as asked for, when it's crunching by itself. ![]() ![]() [Edit 2 times, last edit by themoonscrescent at Sep 15, 2012 8:02:04 AM] |
