The outcome of the UK team's participation in this week's HCC GPU Beta Test compared to the team's crunching for the last week:
----------------------------------------Runtime Points Results The impact of fully operational GPU crunching will be mind blowing! ![]() |

Hey jonnieb-uk! Thanks for all the stats, really interesting, keep it up =) I have a suggestion though... when you do comparison stats for current activity, it might be a good idea to do a 7-day average, as many people have a weekly cycle of output. I know it won't make much difference from the 6 days that you seem to do, but the pedant in me wants to point it out =P

@ Kashi Gorton
----------------------------------------Thanks for taking the time to comment on the stats. Your point re a 7 day average is well made. Most of my stats are underpinned by a 7 day average, for example my regular assessment of targets for the UK team. The 2nd post yesterday on Global 5000 Rankings was, on the face of it, an exception necessitated by timing of the August month end - data for the 7 days is split 1:6 across 2 spreadsheets. However that the system downtime on Aug 31 meant that results for Sep 1 were inflated to almost double normal levels so a 6 day average was really 7 days in all but name. ![]() ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by jonnieb-uk at Sep 8, 2012 1:06:56 PM] |

Another endorsement of all the stats - very interesting stuff and your efforts are appreciated.
----------------------------------------Do your spreadsheets give the ability to show when/whether I'll hit the global 5,000 for points, based on current throughput rates (without asking you to actually work it out - I'm just interested if the figure is already calculated on one of your sheets)? ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Mike D Green at Sep 8, 2012 2:18:36 PM] |

Qualifying for Global 5000
----------------------------------------@ Mike D Green Adding you wasn't a problem as the raw data was already there. Just a couple of Cut+Paste Mike D Green 7:169:12:07:04 2,562 days 5,315,865 71 days 13,213 162 days (provisional until Sun am) Unfortunately whilst adding Mike 2 flaws came to light. 1. I hadn't accounted for the qualifying level being a moving target. 2. To be fully accurate the estimates need to be produced in the morning (some data sources are updated every 12 hours, others every 24 hours). A full set of Global 5000 qualifying estimates will follow Sun am. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by jonnieb-uk at Sep 8, 2012 6:17:56 PM] |

Thanks very much - I think I'll fixate on the points total target rather than than the years target in that case!
----------------------------------------I'd wonderered whether you'd factored in the moving target nature of the qualifying level. That said, it's a slow moving target within the timescales of the points ratings, fortunately! ![]() |

Heralding a week of frenetic activity in the Points rankings the UK team have passed IBM Web Innovators & Friends to move to #85 with BOINC@MIXI and America (USA) set to be passed in 2 and 4 days respectively.

Of interest to some people (you know who you are
---------------------------------------- ), dmc_1970 is currently crunching at an average of 28.6 RT days per cd (August 43.3)! ![]() |

Qualifying for Global 5000
----------------------------------------RunTime Days Points Days Results Days Fully revised from my original post. The "Days" estimates now fully account for the daily increase in the Qualifying Threshold. The average daily increase in the Threshold in the last 7 days has been: 2.7 days RT 13,131 Pts 22 Res . The Pts and Res "Days" estimates are still not 100% accurate as I wasn't maintaining daily records, by team member. This will correct over the next week. A full list of all UK team members crunching above the daily Qualifying Threshold will be added to the Monthly stats report. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 2 times, last edit by jonnieb-uk at Sep 9, 2012 3:46:36 PM] |
