..Last off topic post, before handing it back to Hypernova. Thank you very much, SNURK ![]() The one and only correct name for our country is the Netherlands. Holland is only a part of the Netherlands, again devided into North-Holland, and South-Holland. It's true that the Netherlands is often mistakenly called Holland by a lot of foreigners. Holland used to be a seperate country centuries ago, that's the root of the confusion I think. Saying Holland when you mean the Netherlands is the same as saying England when you mean Great Brittain. But we, the dutch, forgive you all for it. ![]() - finally an explanation that works! I brought it over here in order to allow us and anybody else to discuss topics like this <and in order not to rock the boat too much> So, is it OK to call you Dutchmen/women? Or ought we say Netherlanders? [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Oct 14, 2011 9:12:18 AM] |

A little unscientific research shows me that most stating their
countries are Europeans. Those stating their country and states from the USA tend to be Texans Illinoisians or Californians That could fool one into believing they are the only states with crunchers. The Canadians are diligent and proud of their country, as well, proud enough to flash it on their "index cards". So, fellow cruncher, where are you from? Have you written it into your "My Forum Profile" up ^^^ there? You haven't? Please take 30 seconds out of your busy schedule and do so |

Time for a
BUMP of this thread featuring a passion of mine - new crunchers, old crunchers, young crunchers, old crunchers all crunchers regardless of your sex: Geography matters! Write-up - now in new easy to read colours! Not being ready to give this thread up until everybody proudly list their country, - please give it a thought this weekend when you have lots of time! I - as the ronkadora I proundly confess to be - dug it out from the køkkenmødding once more. If you wish to see where from a cruncher is, 8 times out of 10 you'll be up for a disappointment. I can see many good reasons for not stating one's e-mail, but would there be any risk in stating a country, a state or city, big or small? I still meet too, too many fellow crunchers whose country is not stated in their "My Forum Profile" - and I still think geography is important - and in this case it is free as well, so, please run to your "My Forum Profile" - grayest bar ^^^^ up there - second item from the right - and fill in "Country". BTW - not to invite trouble, but I have listed my e-mail for four months without any problems whatsoever. It could be an all right alternative to the PM facility we don't have, and probably shall not get. ![]() |

Well, I live in Mexico (and have for the last 41 years) although I'm a US citizen. The city where I live is Guadalajara (in the state of Jalisco) and is currently hosting the 2011 Panamerican Games.

Thank you, cjslman, and you are kind enough to state so
- if only most posting crunchers were that straightforward Panamerican Games - are they like the Olympics but limited to America from Canada in the North to Tierra del Fuego in the South? Did Guadalajara do a lot of construction to accomodate all that is necessary to host such an event? You have been here almost from the start. Did you crunch with UD also? I like your signature a lot. I think I'll go get some duct tape |

Sure there are many states crunching. I have just noticed
that people from those three states I mention are more liable to state their state than those from other states. You could add Minnesota to your "index card" to narrow it down a bit, Bearcat, and improve on that impression of mine, but it's fine with USA - more than most tell. I had a good talk with Sgt.Joe here a while ago; we talked about a good deal of Scandinavian decendants in your state, but he mentioned that in the St. Cloud area mainly live people with German ancestors. Are you of German "origin"? I like you name - there is an aircraft with that name, isn't there? It was also my pet name for my ex - Bjørnemis in Danish What made you choose thit name? |

Grandparents are from Europe. Have some German heritage. As for the name, I used to be a scanner nut. Bought mostly bearcat scanners. Use it on most online signatures.
----------------------------------------Not sure on the aircraft name. Like your picture of base camp. Checked out your web site. Didn't find where the location was at. You actually at this place?
