Dave, from what I've read, the problem is with the CPU chip, not the dealer/retailer. I think you see Newegg mentioned most because folks like them and Newegg seems to be/try to be proactive in cases of defective product.

As for your real and virtual "rat's nest" of connections, is it possible to "stack" routers? I'm used to seeing routers with four Ethernet ports and at least four wireless ports. I think I recall seeing routers out there with as many as 16 wireless ports. Can you connect four routers thru the ethernet ports on another router that is connected to the modem? A LAN (possibly wireless) might be an option too. I'm sure this is not a new problem and someone has a good answer.

Yes I think it was all the HCC I had in PV! I order exclusively from Newegg and have been very pleased. To disclose they do not pay me nor do I own stock if they have any though should consider buying it if they have it. I have a solid state drive, $1000+ and am yet to get it working! More time to do it but considering the cost it should be easier! Ordered new video card so my points should jump once have one of my Xenon machines running again. Yet to OC Frankenstein, it is one with SS drive but once done should also boost points. A mill a day here we come!!!

Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 49smilesmile

Are all the MB problems related to hardware from NewEgg? I have been thinking about building a computer, and I stop in at Fry's Electronics every so often to see what is available in cases, MBs, memory, and so on. Sometimes I see some likely candidates but I have not had the time to go whole hog into it. My biggest problems with what I have are being able to get a wireless connection, and I am running out of ports to use for hardwire connection (my router/modem is AT&T).

The simplest and cheapest way to get more ports is with a switch. I have one similar to this on my network. Just plug in and you're good to go. They also come in 4 port and 16 if needed.

Good going team. Looked at Windows performance rating for Franky and it is 5.9 for hard drive and overall and 7.9 x 2 and 7.7 x2 so just Need to OC as two 7.7's were processor and memory as well as get SS OCZ Technologies drive going. One cruncher still awaiting video card.

Oh slowly and hopefully under my wife radar building crankier bride! Will not be ever near same class as Franky but with some nicer Intel chips fairly cheap could not pass up as have several cases that the EVGA MB would not fit. I just want to sample the air up near RT!!!

Uh, Judson, don't you have computers that are used in your practice? Are you running BOINC on them? If you install it as a service, you don't really know it's there.

coffee coffee coffee Good Morning My favorite Online Team coffee coffee coffee

What he said^ except about the routers. Then what nanoprobe and Gerald said. I also run a switch (Netgear brand). Take one Ethernet cable out of your router and put it in a switch and then you can put out 4 (or more if you get a larger than 4 switch)..effectively you are adding 3 Ethernet ports. They work great. I continue to buy from NewEgg for several reasons; among them are that they work with you to make sure you get what you need. Like Judson said, I am not affiliated with them in any way, other than being a customer... (too good of a customer according to my wife).

Oh slowly and hopefully under my wife radar building crankier bride! Will not be ever near same class as Franky but with some nicer Intel chips fairly cheap could not pass up as have several cases that the EVGA MB would not fit. I just want to sample the air up near RT!!!
Well Judson, my wife's radar is a little finer tuned than yours apparently. She keeps the books and knows where every dime goes. So, it looks like you are going build up enough hardware to pass me in daily stats pretty soon. IIRC, you already have several times. All I can say about that is we all do what we can and that the more the merrier; perhaps our team will be the ones that actually find solutions. smile smile smile

Everyone have a SUPER day!!
