Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 49smilesmile

Hey Nano, you manage okay with that front today? The problem here was the wind. Lots of trees blown over. Five of the now six fatalities in GA were from falling trees. The other was from one tornado. The winds have finally settled down.

We caught a break and the storms were not that bad this time. The ones last week were much worse with lots of damage. Fortunately there were no serious injuries that I know of.

Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 49smilesmile

brown chris, or whoever may be able to help, I need the name of a solar company in California to talk with about a solar panel system. I have been talking with "Theresa Klarich" <tklarich@acroenergy.com> and found that Acro Energy would do the installation of the system. You would pay Sun Run the monthly payment, as they would be the owner of the system. The term is 20 years. But, you can purchase the system during the term if you choose.

20 years seems to be an excessive amount of time to have to lease a solar system. I thought, from one of our previous discussions, that a 10 year lease could be obtained. If this is the case, I would like to know the name of the company involved.

Thanks for any help,
Dave

Hi Dave,
The name of the company that I went through is SunGevity. The lease that I have is 10 years, with the option to extend another 5 years. After that, I believe I can get the equipment exchanged and set up another lease.
I can't emphasize how much these panels have helped. I was having $300-$350 electricity bills. My last bill was $1.29.
If all goes well, I will get a credit this month as the meter is back to where it started on March 9.

Also, I don't mean to advertise, but if you give them referral code 44052, you will get a $500 gift card.

Hope you get signed up. This is going to be a very nice summer! I won't be afraid to run the A/C! biggrin

Hey Gerald, what have you decided to do about your MBs? This darned BioStar has something wrong that keeps taking the machine down. I can't seem to isolate it for sure but I think it has someting to do with the LAN interface. Same thing happens with Windows 7 as happened with Ubuntu. Every couple of days, I come in, turn on the monitors and nothing.. Machine still has power but no disk activity and can't get a display. Then I re-boot and I have no LAN or Internet. I go in and disable the LAN interface and then re-enable it and it is off and running. (yes it (LAN interface) is set so that it cannot be turned off by the opsys to save power) I guess, since the error is so intermittent, I will just order another MB and throw this one in the trash. sick

Edit:> Keith, my email addr for you keeps bouncing. Please send me your alternate as I seem to have misplaced it while transfering machines.

Hi DM - Long time, no see!
Hope all is well with you!

Howdy Chris. We are doing GREAT! I really enjoyed reading about your solar experience. I am having some solar work done too on my motorhome. The coach is older and has an automatic TV dish that has the diameter of a hot tub. It is huge, heavy and has the aerodynamic properties of a brick wall. I found this tiny start-up company in Redding that will replace it with a solar array that uses much of the original mechanical equipment. You just flip a switch and the panels rise, find the sun and then tracks it across the sky. It also has a small, modern TV dish. It folds flat with the roof when down and I am hoping it improves the gas mileage of the beast as well as providing all of our electrical needs. I am doing this because My Lady came home from her last trip to Washington DC and announced she is burnt out, fed up with politicians and going to sell her CA lobby business and retire. I never saw this coming! hypnotized We are planning to travel in the motorhome for a while and see if we can stand to be together 24/7. laughing biggrin laughing The current plan is to spend this winter in New Mexico (my choice) and next summer in Montana (her choice). I am both overjoyed and overwhelmed. The task list is enormous but I am trying to think of it one task at a time. We may be passing through your neck of the woods this fall ... I will honk. laughing
I have shut down all but one cruncher as I am hemorrhaging money starting to prepare for this adventure. I will finish off CEP2 this weekend and then shut everything down.
Being together 24/7 will be a big change in our relationship but at this point I am so pleased she made this decision I am willing to agree to anything. biggrin It has been a long time since I have seen her this happy.
Cheers! coffee

Hi all, I just had a meeting with my tax preparer and he is really convinced that the solid state equivalent of a hard drive is the way to go. I haven't read anything about these but this person will be changing all his systems to Windows 7 and his experience with the solid state drive is very positive.

Wow - it sounds like a lot has changed!
I hope your coach has a diesel engine in it, but I have a feeling that it doesn't. Gas isn't getting any cheaper - my truck now costs $75 to fill from a quarter tank. I couldn't imagine filling a motor home up! hypnotized
If the solar works out for you, though, you won't have to use that fuel to run a generator, so that will certainly help.
Cost aside, I would love to do that and am hoping to one of these days. There are still a lot of places left in this country for me to see.
I wish you two the best, and a whole lot of fun!
Be sure to check in (I assume you will have some form of internet) and keep us informed on your adventures!

Cheers, DM coffee , and you take care out there! And don't forget to honk as you drive by my neck of the woods! wink

Never spend money on a BioStar MB. If you do, never do any crunching with it. Those are probably the worst boards ever made.
