For the past few days I have felt like I was in a horror movie. You know the one where the seemingly slow, stumbling, monster is chasing the terrified victim to be. You think to yourself, surely if it was me on the screen, I would outrun the monster, especially with the huge lead I have on the monster.
The poor victim (usually a sweet teenager) runs, hides, tries to fight back, but it doesn't help. Eventually, he gets overtaken by the monster and is dispatched quickly. But one victim falling prey to the monster isn't enough to satisfy his bloodlust. He keeps seeking more and more. The killing just doesn't stop.
I realized a couple of months ago that I was running from my inevitable doom. I thought I had lots of time. I had a really big lead. But, just when I thought I might make it, Frankenstein appears around the corner and the chase was on. I ran for all I was worth, but to no avail. Tonight I fell victim to our doctor's Frankenstein. He has surpassed me on the points chart for our team. But don't think for a minute that he is done, there are at least two more victims he is stalking. GeraldRube and Coingames, you many think you have huge leads, but it won't help. It may take him a while, but rest assured, your fate will be no different than mine.
He's coming! RUN!!!

OMG--we are Doomed

Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 49smilesmile

Some good news and some bad news--Q: What action should I take if I have already purchased a GIGABYTE 6 series motherboard?

A: Firstly, please determine your computer setup. No action will be needed if you only use the SATA 3 ports. If you are using the SATA2 ports, then there are possibilities that the device’s performance will decrease after a period of usage. To ensure the highest standard of customer support & services, GIGABYTE recommends that all customers who purchased GIGABYTE 6 series motherboards contact their local dealer (retail store where you purchased the motherboard) at the end of April for a motherboard exchange. GIGABYTE will provide an equivalent new motherboard replacement. ----I have two of these--the good news--i switched to the SATA 3 port and wala my cruncher is working--- smile

Great news. I had to do the same thing on an Asus board while waiting for a replacement. My only question is why are they making you wait until the end of April? Did you buy online or at a retail outlet?

Since it's a good news/bad news morning, we had a line of storms come thru last night with a lot of wind. I've heard that about 250,000 folks lost power. There were three fatalities down south of Atlanta. There was baseball size hail somewhere - I think east of town. I lost power here about 10:30. By about 1AM, the lightning and rain were pretty much over so the crew were probably able to get out and start repairs. Power came back on about 5:30 AM so I lost about a third of the day's crunching time but no damage here.

HEY THERE! Good to hear from you!!! Are you back crunching again? What have you been up to? We have a lot of folks you know still around and lots of new folks too. As for Dave B., we lost him back in October. Between COPD and heart failure, they sadly got the better of him. We do carry on his MOT traditions though!

coffee coffee coffee Good Morning Team coffee coffee coffee

Good to hear from you Graham. We are all really glad David came back to the team he started oh so many workunits ago. Perhaps you could do the same? We would love to have you back as well. smile

As my email explained, we lost our dear friend Dave Bell. He stayed with us to the end, always friendly, helpful, and a great teammate. We miss him every day.

Gerald: I understand that some dealers (Newegg is among them I think), will send you the replacement MBs and allow you to ship the old ones back once you get the new ones running. I would do that, were I you.

Keith: Sorry to hear about the outage. Baseball size hail..amazing. Sad to hear about the fatalities..but with that kind of hail.. I suppose it is not too surprising.

Parmesian: smile Now I don't care who you are, thats funny!

Same front is rolling through here now. There may be tornado warnings later. sad

Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 49smilesmile

brown chris, or whoever may be able to help, I need the name of a solar company in California to talk with about a solar panel system. I have been talking with "Theresa Klarich" <tklarich@acroenergy.com> and found that Acro Energy would do the installation of the system. You would pay Sun Run the monthly payment, as they would be the owner of the system. The term is 20 years. But, you can purchase the system during the term if you choose.

20 years seems to be an excessive amount of time to have to lease a solar system. I thought, from one of our previous discussions, that a 10 year lease could be obtained. If this is the case, I would like to know the name of the company involved.

Thanks for any help,
Dave
