I wish I knew how to put all the fancy cheering creatures up

Judson, look at the links in the thread header (first post) for the smilies. When you find one you want to use, just copy it (the url or short tinyurl for it) into your post, hightlight it and click on the Image button. Use the Preview button to check things out before you post.

Sorry to hear that Gerald. What kind of MB failed? Hopefully it was not a Gigabyte or the Eowyn.

Observation: Since I switched over to running C4CW, I have had a 1.6% "inconclusive" and this has resulted in about 43 compute hours lost. Small percentage but still a bit irritating. 2 of these were on Linux machines and the other 8 were on Windows (XP, Vista and Win 7) Quads and Core 2 Duo. Will check over in that forum and see if my experience is unusual.

Everyone have a great Sunday! smile

I doubt you lost any crunching. Water is a quorum of one project so there's no PV but in a small number of cases, a WU is marked inconclusive and gets resent to another cruncher. When they're done, the WU has two results and your inconclusive becomes valid or invalid. I think I've only had a couple end up invalid since the project began.

The computer time has not been lost. The inconclusives will probably turn valid as a wingman completes their workunit. This is done to verify the process on some units in this project. There should be thread somewhere on it.

Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 49smilesmile

Thanks Keith and Sgt. Joe. I appreciate the pointer to the thread (I posted in it earlier). I will keep up with the WUs see what happens.

BTW, I converted my I7/2600 from Ubuntu (Linux) to Win 7 today as I a first step in making it my normal-use machine. My current normal-use machine I7/860 Dell in a CoolerMaster case will become a file server and cruncher. Hopefully it will see HCC 6.42 soon smile

It was Gigabyte 2.83 Intel Quad---I rebuilt two machines with a cheaper Gigabyte motherboard and one failed--Its enough to get on your nerves--i guess i need to upgrade to the new Intel I7 chips sad

Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 49smilesmile

If you are going to go with an I7, I highly recommend the 2600. It is only 95Watts and really cranks. If you want a parts list, I can send you my last one. I would love to build another myself. straight face

Edit:>Hey... If you order a MB for an I7/2600, be careful and get the MB that allows you to O/C the processor and not the one that allows you to O/C the video. Makes all the difference; I still like Gigabyte...I have a BioStar that I don't think is nearly as good.
