Having issues as always with one of my main crunchers but should correct soon. Now working soley on CCW. Only have two plus years on it and hope to have ten years on as many as possible. The clean energy project is tough on my Xenons and as that is over half my computers will probablY never reach ten years on those. Protene folding likewise seems to cause my machines headaches and though I have four years on that project it likewise will have to wait. Hope all had a great weekend!

As far as team standings go, if my calculations are correct we should catch Boinv@Australia in team points tomorrow!

If you are going to go with an I7, I highly recommend the 2600. It is only 95Watts and really cranks. If you want a parts list, I can send you my last one. I would love to build another myself. ![]() Edit:>Hey... If you order a MB for an I7/2600, be careful and get the MB that allows you to O/C the processor and not the one that allows you to O/C the video. Makes all the difference; I still like Gigabyte...I have a BioStar that I don't think is nearly as good. Yes please send me your list-i will do a comparison and i do like gigabyte but will go with a better board-- |

Yes please send me your list-i will do a comparison and i do like gigabyte but will go with a better board-- Just an FYI. I have found that memory running above 1600MHz. has no measuable effect on crunch speeds. I throw that out here so you don't spend extra money on fast memory that doesn't really make a difference. In fact I'm not convinced that anything above 1333MHz. is measuably faster. Take a look at Asus boards also. The 2 I have seem to be solid so far and they have 2 PS/2 ports and 1 model has an IDE legacy port so you can still use your IDE HDDs. Good luck.

Yes please send me your list-i will do a comparison and i do like gigabyte but will go with a better board-- I sent the list via email...but I suppose there is no harm in posting it here: PSU ANTEC| EA-380D GREEN RT (this is an 80+) CASE CoolerMaster|RC-922M-KKN1-GP BK RT CPU COOL CoolerMaster|RR-UV8-XBU1-GP R (Love this CPU Cooler) VGA EVGA|512-P3-1311-KR GF210 512M CPU INTEL|CORE I7 2600K 3.4G 8M R MEM 4Gx2|GSKILL F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL MB BIOSTAR TP67B+ 1155 R Western Digital 6401AALS 640GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive As I said, I would not use that same MB again. This is now my everyday use machine as well as crunching 24x7 in the background. If anyone cares, I am running a mix of HCCC and C4CW on the Windows machines while waiting on HCC 6.42 |
