Re: Transient upload error

Thanks Uplinger for the explanation when the molecules return to normal size hopefully tasks will checkpoint a little more often example more than once in just over 12 hours.

Re: Transient upload error

I have 8 CEP2 units stuck uploading. Started getting errors earlier this afternoon. No problems transferring FAH units. Is anyone seeing the same problem?

Ubuntu-PC World Community Grid 4/22/2014 6:32:15 PM Temporarily failed upload of E221193_068_K.23.C15FH6N3OS2Se.00514169.0.set1d06_0_2: HTTP error
Ubuntu-PC World Community Grid 4/22/2014 6:32:15 PM Backing off 2 min 7 sec on upload of E221193_068_K.23.C15FH6N3OS2Se.00514169.0.set1d06_0_2
Ubuntu-PC --- 4/22/2014 6:32:17 PM Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down.

EDIT: Same uploads still stuck. Downloads not happening also. Can't get any new work for CEP2. Any updates?

Re: Transient upload error

I don't know about the upload issues, it could be something with the CEP servers. But you can't download anything because BOINC doesn't allow downloads when to many tasks are waiting to upload (I think its twice the number of cores you have).

Re: Transient upload error

I have 4 stuck uploads on two quad boxes. One quad box attempted to download three more units. Those are stuck also.

Looks like Harvard and/or WCG are having problems with their servers ...

Re: Transient upload error

I checked my event log from 8pm to present and CEP has been uploading fine on my end. I am running 24 concurrent CEP work units. Just an FYI.

Re: Transient upload error

Hello AgrFan, Just heard from the Harvard Team and they say all systems look good on their side. Please let us know if you are still experiencing an upload issue. Thanks.

Re: Transient upload error

AgrFan,

The file that you are trying to upload should be sent to the World Community Grid servers. For some reason you are having a connection issue between your computer and our servers. Are you having issues uploading just CEP2 work or do you have other projects selected and are having issues with them as well?

Thanks,
-Upinger

Re: Transient upload error

I do not know your set up, but I would try rebooting your modem/router/switch or any other devices in your internet connectivity line. Try rebooting the computer too. It is surprising sometimes what makes things get stuck.
Cheers

Re: Transient upload error

I got everything working again by removing the OpenDNS Family Shield IP addresses from the Static DNS list in my Linksys WRT54G router. What's strange is my single WinXP client was not affected. Only my two Ubuntu clients would not transfer any new or completed work (CEP2 and FAH). Maybe the IP addresses for Linux work on the Harvard/WCG side were being filtered? Or maybe my trusty WRT54G needs replacement? I'm currently waiting for the next Comcast speed increase since it still works perfectly at 25/5.

Thanks everyone for the troubleshooting help!!!
