Last check, the egg had 7 LGA1155 boards listed and maybe 1 P67 available. The rest were H67 boards. Tigerdirect had 1 MSI P67 available so they are finally getting some in. The MSI board looks like it would run the crossfire in X4 which would slow it down way too much for my taste.

Team is at 169 now. Slowed down a little now as we got higher in rank. Still making great forward progress.

Just got an Email from the egg that had a nice picture of the Maximus board telling me I should buy one. Clicked on the link and what did I get? "out of stock"
 I emailed them back and told them what I thought of advertising for a product they have not had any stock in since they sold out on the 4th.  I saw a forum post that said they sold out 30 minutes after they listed them.Don't mind me I just need to vent (wine) every so often.  |

Just got an Email from the egg that had a nice picture of the Maximus board telling me I should buy one. Clicked on the link and what did I get? "out of stock" I emailed them back and told them what I thought of advertising for a product they have not had any stock in since they sold out on the 4th. I saw a forum post that said they sold out 30 minutes after they listed them.Don't mind me I just need to vent (wine) every so often. I had some of my frustration relieved today. http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1703870 Will play with it more tomorrow to see how far I can push it before I decide on a 24/7 setting. The bios on this revision is 100% better that the old one even if you still can't directly set a vcore voltage. Still have to play with offset and ATV. Looks like Newegg is slowly getting more stock in. They added 2 more P67s today although the Maxy isn't one of them.

Nice numbers and from what I have seen they will get better. Do you get that speed on all 4 cores/8 threads? Next question, is that the old 2600K or the new one? Any more word on the difference in power draw? Not having done any OC'ing forgive possible stupid questions. Is that stock memory speed?
It looks like you are going to do some serious crunching with this system. |

Do you get that speed on all 4 cores/8 threads? Yes Next question, is that the old 2600K or the new one? The new one. I have to pull my watt meter off the other one to check draw. I'll let you know ASAP. I do know that this one runs about 5c hotter than the other at the same voltage but that may change after the "burn in" period. It may also run the same clocks on lower voltage. Every chip is different. Not having done any OC'ing forgive possible stupid questions. Ask away. That's how I learned along with a lot of trial and error. More than glad to help. Is that stock memory speed? Nope. This is stock 1600Mhz. memory. That's one great thing about these chips. Since it has an unlocked multiplier you don't have to fool with the FSB to get high overclocks which in turn allows you to get better overclocks with the memory. Just pay a little extra for good quality memory. GSkills rock. It looks like you are going to do some serious crunching with this system. Oh yea. Here are some stats from the other. The points are normally higher when I run a mix but my team is in a challenge and it's running only HCC till the end of March. My email complaining to the egg worked. Told them I would buy it from the first retailer that had it available.
 They sent me an email that they had a board available for me. (hopefully not the board your returning nanoprobe.  )I put a bit of thought into it and then decided to buy it. (about 2 nanoseconds thought)  Checked right after I bought it and it still showed out of stock on the website.Scheduled for delivery Wednsday. I have a 72 hour shift (Fire Department) starting Friday so I will bring it to work and put it together. On second thought I will probably have it put together Wednsday night. |

It is the Maximus.
It will accept the 2600K I have sitting here quite nicely. I hope to get some good OC'ing results with the water cooling setup I bought. Yee Haa!! |
