If I could upgrade the gas bag from a giant hay bale to ....
----------------------------------------Speaking of upgrades I've been watching your build progress. Would it be to nosy to ask when all is said and done about what it's going to cost? I was pricing things and w/o the video bits, I was looking at ~$900? I really want to do something at home but with a 17 year old son, my funds are pretty much spoken for:) |

So far:
Case - $119.00 Power supply - $132.99 Memorex DVD+/- R 24X - 17.99 Estimated for the rest: Motherboard - $365.(asus maximus extreme) Processor - $300. (1155-2600K) Water cooling for Processor - $100.00 (thermaltake) And whatever else I see and like. (and can afford)  BTW the video cards cost me $145. each. 1-XFX 5850 black edition and 1-Saphire 5850. |

Just got off the phone with Excalibur PC and they say early April for the Maximus extreme motherboard.
I don't want to wait that long so now I figure out what I will settle for. |

Are there any 1155 boards available? I think they have all been pulled pending the replacements with the new chipset. I took a quick look and there was only 1 used one for sale on e-bay. Guess we're all stuck for now.
In 1969 I took an oath to defend and protect the U S Constitution against all enemies, both foreign and Domestic. There was no expiration date.

Yup, after investigation the best I can say is that maybe, possibly, could be, theoretically, the motherboards will be released with the fixed chips end of Feb.
The build is on hold.  Latest shopping trip yielded the following: Coolit Vantage water cooling system - $99.99 SteelSeries Merc Stealth keyboard - $89.99 Dual Blue CCFL light bars - $7.99 (was cheap enough to try out) Forgot to add: Hard drive 1 TB $? SSD drive for operating system $? Windows 7 Pro (developers) - $144.00 |

The rebates usually take about 3 months to get back but they have always come for me.
