Are there any 1155 boards available? If there's one near you. http://www.microcenter.com/storefronts/intel/new_sandy_bridge_products.html Found this on the egg. They should have more in a few days. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.asp...erboard&x=14&y=35

That is great news! It is killing me to wait for this motherboard. I am tempted to buy a cheap one to get running but I will try to have a little patience. Meanwhile the egg will be visited often until they get the asus maximus in.
Don't have microcenters here in Arizona but we have Frys electronics. They look like they carry the same stuff. I am keeping my eyes glued to many retailers. |

Frys is good. I'm sure they will have some too. As for me, I get a bonus. Newegg will ship me a replacement and I have 30 days to ship the old one back. That will give me 3 weeks to run both and get a good Windows/Linux comparison.

Thats a bonus. Let us know the outcome on that test.
Let me know when they ship to you, that might be the best indicator when they will be available to purchase again. |

----------------------------------------I thought I'd just throw this out here for you to ponder. 3/3/11 0:005:14:14:51 Points>20,256 Results>110-->AMD Hexcore @ 3.5 GHz. Linux 3/3/11 0:007:14:57:00 Points>38,908 Results>117-->I7-2600k @4.5 GHz Win7 Pro 3/3/11 0:008:07:56:50 Points>26,176 Results>159-->I7-860 @3.5 Ghz. Linux 11/13/10 0:008:02:12:52 Points>28,921 Results>182-->I7-920 @ 4.1 GHz. Linux. This was an average day on this cruncher before I sold it. As you can see Linux is much faster but awards less points. I know there has been much discussion about the disparity between Linux/Windows and points but I don't really care. I don't do this for points. To me results are what's really important. I'm guessing the 2600k @ 4.5 GHz on Linux should return 200+ results per day. These results were from running HCC exclusively.

As much as I would like to run Linux I can't. I will have to run windows 7 Pro because of the gaming and video editing I want to do on this cruncher. I'm with you on the points, if I was worried about points I would have built a computor just for crunching long ago. It sure makes you wish Microsoft could get their act together and get windows to work as quick as Linux. So much less overhead in Linux I guess.
I am seeing more LGA1155 motherboards becoming available every day on the egg so I am hopefull the Maximus will be available soon. ![]() |

The egg had lower end 1155 motherboards listed and then 1 hour later had the maximus but they were sold out already. Not sure if they just created the listing in preparation for the incoming product or if they got a shipment in and sold out in under an hour.
Now I keep refreshing the page about every 15 minutes just in case. |

Since it's already Friday I'm guessing it will be more like Monday. Hope you can get the board you want ASAP. In know you're chompin' at the bit. ![]()
