Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

You may remember that Roberto gave a talk at Eton school in Mexico this October. The kids made a banner, which they will hang at an amusement park (Feria de Chapultepec) in Mexico City on their school outing. Very nice! You can check out a picture here:

Carlos and Sergio – our CEP expatriates - are currently in town. Great to have them back for a while biggrin .

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

Boston currently holds the 2011 Materials Research Society (MRS) Fall Meeting and Roberto, Carlos, and Suleyman are presenting different aspects of the Clean Energy Project. It's nice to spread the word about CEP and the WCG at this big conference which brings together a very diverse set of scientists.

The White House was also present at the MRS meeting and gave details and updates on its Materials Genome Initiative – very interesting presentation:

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

Another reason to run CEP2...hydrocarbons have already proven to be very useful in the production of new materials such as the wide range of existing plastics; IMO, the Materials Genome Initiative is just another driver for taking the position that you shouldn't burn your raw materials up before you have figured out everything that you can do with them.

"If only they hadn't..." isn't something we want to force future generations to say.
