Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

Our new undergrads Laszlo and Alex have started to systematically scan the literature for experimental data which we can use for calibration and model training in our OE12 set.

I wish all you busy bees the same (relaxing for me as I retired in mid 2008).

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

After a few record days early in the month we are having a stretch of relatively weak returns with under 16 y/d now. Keep crunching everybody!!!

They were climbing at the beginning of the month but seemed to have dropped again. sad The release of a new project may impact your numbers too as "badge race" goes on for a few weeks. I hope your numbers improve. good luck

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

Dear friends,
CEP2 is in a pickle! Through a glitch, most people’s device setting was changed to 1 CEP2 wu at a time. Due to our ‘opt-in’ status we heavily rely on power crunchers who often run many CEP2 wus and who may hence be particularly affected by this. We are down 10% since yesterday and about 25% from a few days ago. Our share in the WCG grid time has dropped to only 4%. The bottomline is: We need your support now more than every! Please check your settings and support us as much as you can. Thank you!

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

I must admit, that, with the announcement of HFCC going back on reduced priority, I've gone back to just soley crunching for that project (I'm aiming to upgrade the badge from Emerald to Sapphire - ideally before target 7 runs out and the potentially delayed start of target 8, but if not, I'll just have to wait). Before that though, I had opened up CEP2 slightly - albeit, removing the single core I'd put aside for CEP2 wouldn't have had that great an effect on the recent reduction.

Rest assured though, as soon as I've reached my goal for HFCC, CEP2 will be back on my radar (along with DSfL, GFAM and (when it's been switched back on), C4CW. After all, my first goal in each project is Gold, then my second goal is Emerald. After that - well, that's a long, long time away, but, if there's no new projects and I've hit Emerald for all the currently active projects, then it'll be another big push to upgrade another one to Sapphire...

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

Actually gb there IS a brand new project out, it's a malaria project. I loaded up one machine to get a bronze for it and the rest of my stuff is on CEP2 now about 90 percent with the Lechmaniasis dabbling about 10 percent. Once the lechy one is sapp it's 100 percent CEP2 for me, and beta's of course.

I may dabble in the other projects, but my heart is with CEP2. Im into the solar thing and would love to one day get a new set of panels that I helped create.
