Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

A couple of dg01 just completed on my Core i5-750, taking 6.03 and 6.29 hours.

Yah, I can understand that but why the big leap in number? shouldn't 6.18 be suffice enough?

A type or C type? Is it to signify and align the version numbers of all sciences at 6.40 and up to know they're because of the key change and not because of a science app fix?

Just my 2 [Euro] cents.

edit: An so my eye loiters over another thread which says:
... with HCMD2. It downloaded wcg_hcmd2_maxdo_6.40_i686-pc-linux-gnu and then reported:

Picked up a Type A dg01 overnight, it's a _2 and date of 3/9 so a repair I guess, along with a number of ts01 repairs. Est. time on that dg01 is 61 hours on this Core Duo T2500. Still have the 6.17's in my 1-day queue, so it looks like I didn't lose any in the change to 6.40.

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

No, A Type have a higher priority in the feeder (only go to R++ hosts) and a standard deadline of 8 days, repairs being 3.2 days. Of course since they only go to Reliable hosts, they come back within 2 days which then allows to send the batches back to the scientists much quicker for them to make the B Type batches.

btw, the run times for A type are probably not much longer any more than C Type pr/pl, B type now kind of the longest of the 3 types.

--//--

edit: The B Type have a deadline of 7 days, a higher priority in the feeder also i.e. they're pushed out before any C type in the feeder, with 2.8 days allowed for repairs. These go to all hosts no matter their rating.

OK thanks for the info SekeRob. I'll keep a watch on that Type A to see what the runtime actually turns out to be. If it's really only 5-6 hours then it will definitely be back before 2 days.

Of all the dg A types I've gotten, the longest run time is slightly over 12 hours. All but the slowest machines should be able to crank them out in less than a single day no matter what the estimated duration.

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

By percentage it looks like about 10-12 hours work.

On my I5-M520 @ 2.4GH running W7-32 average 11.5 hours

On my Q9300 @ 2.5GH running Vista-32 average 6.75 hours

On my wifes Q9400 @ 2.66GH running W7-64 average 6 hours

I noticed that my Type A is actually a repair job - but has deadline of 8 days and not 3.2 days.
