Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

Well, we're already 24 hrs into this shower, and we're still pulling down the ts01_a*'s - and that's after everyone who wanted to, filling their cache's cool

Long may this rain last biggrin

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

I already have 42 pages of DDDT2 in PV Jail - so there must be a lot of wingmen with a fat cache out there.
My most recent is an a300. Anyway to predict the end numbers of the alpha series?

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

Any way to predict? Comparing my BOINCTasks history who's highests were:

a493
b473
c474
d213 (ended with a dl of file g22_d211_to _d220 or something like that)

Suspect the highest will be a500. Seippel's post gives different totals for a through e, so it's kind of hinting that not all will end with the same highest identifier.

On the previous ts02 wave, got an estimated total. Officially 542,000 and some 552,000 passed the validator... those 10,000 more will be ''repairs'''of all kinds, since anything that passes for a credit is counted.

This run is 593,000, so counting on at least 600,000 coming out the feeders. Today we're heading for about 14,000 validations, of course way way behind the distribution curve.

Since Dec.13 the science has not had a single day without results validating. The daily average has been running from then at 12,675... very active-intermittent ;p

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

Ahhhh.... I'm relatively new to crunching. I finally figured out a way get more WU for this project. Instead of getting 2 or 3 per week I'm starting to get several per day. DDDT2 is listed as an intermittent project, and I'd assumed the infrequent WU I was getting were due to that. Then I read in this thread about more WU being available, and I turned off the other projects. I'll be OK as long as I get enough WU to keep my 7 cores busy. I run on a Mac, and there seems to be fewer WU available for Macs than for other platforms. So far I've been starting the DDDT2 WU, even though they're at the bottom of the cache, but I'm wondering if I should let them come in and fill up the cache before they run.

One of my crunchers is an 4 core Mac. It sometimes will take longer to fill up with DDDT2 WUs than my Windows machines, but it will fill up. This DDDT2 rain will last for a few weeks so I would recommend letting the WUs already in your cache run.

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

Funny, my quad Linux fetches them by the boatloads till cache is brimmed, but the Windows machine needs to do many requests and still only gets 1 or 2 at the time. Since 90% is Windows, the competition I guess is much greater to get hold of the pre-designated wingman (wingman go to same platform). Anyway, no need to hit Update incessantly... with the weeks of work they'll come eventually in the trickle :D

Thanks for your reply. Once I realized the DDDT2 WU were not sporadic, I knew what to do. Even though I only get one or two downloads at a time, my cache is filled up and I have 7 cores of my Mac and one core on a Windows laptop crunching this project. Looks like I'll get some badges -- maybe even a green or blue one if this rain lasts long enough....

I also got one days worth of Beta today, and that was nice.

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

So, it's taken approx. 4 days to send out 55 1/2 thousand ts01_a's - taking into consideration that many caches are now full...

So, any guesses as to how long the ts01_b's take before they've all been sent??? A week is my guess...

Let's hope so! And BTW, congratulations on your "Ruby Globe" upgrade!
